Great idea Boomdocker - certainly will add your ideas. No spend for me today but I'm starting to think about what I have for ebay. Then back to work and will make sure it's all pack lunches for January.

    Good luck everyone.

Forgot about Nectar points, Boots points etc. I think I have some Tesco Clubcard vouchers that I won't really use for deals so may use them for shopping instead.

Count me in. I've signed up for £310 in Jan so it seems more manageable to start off with. I hoping to greatly exceed that as we have a pup for sale.

I'm very impressed with posts so far - I don't have the motivation yet. Could be because I'm Scottish and don't plan to start until tomorrow at the earliest!! ;)

Jess, because the water that collects in your dehumidifier has been filtered it's good to use in your iron instead of vapouress. It doesn't smell as nice, but won't build up limescale and is free! :)

Thats a great tip and if you get some essential oils and put a drop or 2 in the water then it will smell great and a little bottle of essential oils should last a long time :D

Eucalyptus oil is less than £1 per bottle from Home Bargains, Lloyds Pharmacy and others, plus it is supposed to kill dust mites and deter moths too! I use it in vinegar rinse in my washing machine for this reason. I should think it really would just be a drop that you'd need as well, not that I'd know. Not only do I not use ironing water, I'm not generally known for using the iron itself  and if I'm honest I've only a vague idea where my iron is right now...

I was thinking of making cushion covers to sell , does anyone do this ?
If I list them on ebay would I have to say they are hand made ?
would this put people off ?

I make them without zips (to save money) , they just have a fold in the back but look fab. I used to make jewellery long before it became popular , but now its difficult to sell due to so much competition. I also crochet scarfs to sell but they are not in demand now its nearer the end of winter.

Last night my mother in law gave us some packs of yogurts , so I have added that to the total ,lol.

You could always crochet lightweight lace style scarves for the summer or wraps. The happy hooker book has lots of lovely summery crochet ideas.....pity I can't get past the chain stitch! :o

Or is it worth having a batch made up ready for Autumn/Winter?

I'm about to embark on some knitted cushion covers but for me first then see how cost effective this could be.

    Good luck.

Thanks , I have seen that folksy site before and wondered do people really buy from there ?
Does anyone else make money on there ?

I so not know if anyone makes money from selling on that site.
But my wife and one of her friends have had stuff off that site. I think her friend uses the site quite a lot.
