Do people usually include money saved or is it just extra money you have gained a little confused about that.

    Aprilshower

From what i an gather people have their own rules. Mine cover any money i put into our savings (that stays there). But, if i make a saving i will transfer that equivalent amount into my savings, so i will have a physical amount of money to count.

E.g. I've just renewed our car insurance and have paid it off in a lump sum using money we had saved. However, i will pay back our savings each month using the amount that we would have paid had we opted to pay monthly.

    or

On my spreadsheet i will keep a tally of how much money i've saved by (e.g.) using water from the dehumidifier instead of a bottle of vapouress (£1) or a dvd rental token from clubcard instead of paying the £4. Then on payday i will transfer that collective amount into my savings.

I may end up spending some like if something breaks, but that won't affect my total.

Oh dear. Just looked at my internet banking and I am proper skint! A bit depressing but at least i've managed to pay some stuff off already. I've got 2 items on ebay which will sell (£31 so far!) and a few more listed. I've just got to make sure I put everything I get into paying off my debts rather than spending it!!!
My mini challenge to myself is to pay off my laptop (£138) and my smaller overdraft (£65) by the 15th of Jan!
Anyone else want to do a mini challenge to start off the year?

    Happy New Year!!

I wasnt drinking last night however I feel like cack this morning :(. Was playing 'just dance' on the xbox connect when I went to pick up the OH. So much fun.

I managed to find £20 of £5 notes in my purse this morning. So thats going in the pot. I need a sealed pot but grudge buying one (going to be mega frugal this year, my one indulgance will be 2 bottles of Lush shower gel from their valentines range -Honey I washed the kids - so scrummy)

Also got about £30 of change bagged up. So on day1 I have £50. :j

I think I will be looking at the old style boards a bit, want to improve my diet but at the same time keep the costs down.

Hope everyones hangovers arent too bad!!!

Good luck David. Let me know how you get on. I'm going to post a count down of the cash as I pay it off to keep me motivated!

Excellent start to the year for me! used CEX.co.uk to sell some games, only two, and got £31 for them which I transferred to my bank today from paypal. So easy to use CEX would really recommend it. They pay quickly by paypal and you get good prices, I feel sometimes better than ebay and they pay within 2 days of getting it if you have paypal!

Also raised £14.96 from some content creation work I did for an up and coming games website. Doesnt sound like much and I had to do 400 posts to get it but just wanted to get started in that line of work and get my rep up on the digital point website to get better jobs offered. first time I have done anything of this kind and the reason its such an odd amount is the fact it was paid in dollars and converted.

So I ma very happy with that!

Plans for the day are just to check some mystery shops etc and have a look around. Nothing too much today.

I have done 4 reviews this morning to keep my dooyoo and CIAO accounts going too and hit my targets.

All in all a good start

    Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...";
    And then do it.
