    Hi everyone

Is it too late to join???? I have dipped into this thread over last few days and have NO idea how I will get anywhere near doing it but it has stayed in my head and being start of the year etc I am going to challenge myself!

So far, finally cancelled ESPN on Sky at £9 a month so counting that as £108 for 2011. Also we counted loose change pot and it is on £30 without us really trying. We are going to try for £1 a day.

We have a wedding July 2011 to save for so you will see me on wedding boards too!!

So far, (we both work FT) ideas are pretty much limited to dejunking the whole house and putting it on ebay, checking out things on sales with a view to ebay, finding a good site to get rid of books. I blog and tweet anyway so will look into advertising or whatever - if anyone has any tips please let me know.

    Thanks

Hi, instead of me just reading this thread, I will give it a go, as I need to make more effort to get deposit for house.

Opened a online saving account and will be putting any ebay sales, comp money wins (which I will win this year), spare money at end of month and any bonuses.

Well the past few days i have made some major decisions in my life, so my future income is unknown at present, but i will do my best to keep to this challenge.

I have registered with some MS sites & medical research - although thats in OH name as he is healthy :rotfl:
Working from home doing surveys etc
Cash back from Quidco will be added
Anything saved from reducing my monthly shop and going old school
Anything saved from reducing taxi use by shopping on my hospitial days or online - currently £40 - £80 a week:eek:
I have started decluttering the house and listed 5 things on ebay so far with 2 confirmed sales so far :D
I have a whole garage full of boxes that i don't know what's in them so they will be done soon and proberly listed on ebay. I have emptird a few jar/drawers around the house for random money as well as the ex tenants money jar :rotfl:

I have been 2 days non smoking this time so far and hopefully i will stick to it this time.:o 0 spent 2 years as a non smoker and started again so this time i want to quit for good and going cold turkey that will save me a lot of money

Hope you all had a good night& best wishes for this year :j
    Grocery Challenge - Jan £4.42/£200.00

    Up my income - £124.00/ £11,000.
  • Hi Everybody

Well today is the start of the task so here we go.

I have opened a new bank account this morning on line so I can transfer any money involved in this task into that bank account so nobody can get their little fingers on it.

Over the next few weeks I am goint to have a really deep declutter of the house and ebay or try and sell any unwanted items. I know this is going to take me a few weeks as I think there is alot of unwanted stuff around the house. The kids will hate me.

Count the money in my change pig that is in the kitchen.

Also cut down on the amount we spend on food shopping which could save about £10 / £15 a week.

OMG this is going to be fun.

Do people usually include money saved or is it just extra money you have gained a little confused about that.

Good luck to all those stopping smoking! I stopped a few years back now and saved a fortune! I was on 30 a day!!

Just think, at £5.50 a pack (even though i know they're probably more than that now) at 20 ciggies a day that's £2007.50 in the pot over one year!! :j

I'd like to think of myself as a fairly experienced matched better and am hoping to make quite a bit of my 11k target from matched betting this year.

I'd just like to vouch for betmunch's website, it really is one of the better resources out there and beginners could do a lot worse than follow the advice that he gives!

Thanks very much for the feedback.

I wish my webdesign was as good as my Matched Betting advice!

Although the site is very basic, everything you need is there, including my MSN address so everyone can feel free to add me to their friends list, or PM me here.

Good Luck and a Happy New Year to all
