Argh, trying to design my blog and im not making much progress. Everything just seems so amateurish :(. Will try again in the morning I suppose.

Having one last game on costa and then its off to bed for me.

Now up to 27 watchers on my 2 items. Yes I'm sad, I keep checking them every few hours :rotfl:.
  • I get a litte obsessed with ebay too nikki, constantly refreshing the page!!

I am looking forward to getting my wage slip today, I can then work out how much overtime I did and how much I got paid for it, I will add it to my totals but it wont be going in thw wedding fund til the end of the month. My working tax is currently being updated so we are going to be on a bit of a shoestring this month until we get the payments again. They will be less than before but that should work out because the ougoing is also less. That's the hope anyway!

No Mystery shops available in my area and no surveys...typical!

Recieved a £30 cashback checque from Swiftcover from when I took out my home insurance with them. It was months ago and had forgotten about it, so a nice surprise. Won £8.56 on Sing Bingo. Am I right in thinking that I have to deposit £22 to bring it over the £30 minimum withdrawal?
I am trying to work out the best time to deposit to make the most of the 24hours in the free room. I work mon to Fri 9 - 5 so I suppose it will have to be the weekend.

Pink lily - forward planning can be good if you have a plan or if doing your plan badly would land you in debt/ trouble. However the sort of thinking where you need to know how you'll make your 11k before commiting to start can be paralysing. My thoughts would be to just start, all you can think of right now is to declutter and sell it on ebay or carboots. fine just start it. say it takes a month to do that who knows what ideas / thoughts and inspiration will have come your way by then. plus if you have committed to the challenge your mind may well be more open to thoughts and ideas that may otherwise pass you by. Its like buying a car and then noticing that model everywhere you go when you didn't really notice them before. If the challenge is in your mind you are more likely to spot ideas and take advantage of them.
If you get to the end of your decluttering and can't think of anything else to do then no harm done you have a tidier house and more money.
just start with what you can do now and be keen to see what comes up next without having to know what it will be.
    Good luck

  • I have enjoyed reading this thread yesterday, yes, pretty much every page. I am impressed that a lot of you are on Target and have felt motivated to join you. Can I please join, despite my late start, will still aim for 11k, nothing ventured, nothing gained! I will post properly when not on my phone, but today I have one mystery shop and will sort some stuff for eBay.
My work situation is a bit complicated, but will only count income not directly related to my main source of employment.
  • Good Morning all,
Not too much money made this week. But, I am really happy to be up to date with my project. Did photography for a wedding clients invitation, that was a lot of fun and went really well. I also went out on Saturday some friends are moving out of London, so farewell drinkies – I managed to spend only £20, which for a night out in London is a virtual miracle.

Today is just about buckling down and getting some stuff wrapped up, I have completely blown the deadline for the shop opening but I am surprisingly chilled out about it as I have a bit more time to finish some stuff of properly. Got a few more items for the product photo shoot which is a really good thing, and I have some more designs run off and ready to go on the website. So I am really feeling happy about that.

I am getting quite a few enquiries about advertising on my blog, but I am working on a blog redesign and have some bits and pieces to finish up with regards to that. I am feeling incredibly excited as I have some really big things happening next month. On top of that I have been invited to exhibit in a wedding show (it is a good one) – so I am really looking forward to taking things to the next level.
So right now I am just reviewing my objectives for the year – I have been using the Steve Pavlina PAS system which is a really good way of reinforcing ideas and planning strategies

I will be reviewing the blog and working out the timetable and article list, I want to make sure that I have most of the content ready for the blog at least a week to a fortnight in hand. And I have had a few ideas for great features.

My links for today are Rescuetime – I can’t get enough of this it tells you how you are spending your time, online and offline it is a brilliant time management tool. http://www.rescuetime.com/

Tinderbox – for creating business plans, it is a great way of monitoring what you have to do. Good for any dribblers who are starting up business to get to £11K http://gettinderbox.com/ great for tracking projects

Final link one is mini business plans it is more of a concept as opposed to a website – but it is a great way of planning what to do without having to be too in depth. I know one of the hardest parts of business is the business plan. This is a lot more painless and a easy way to build your strategy. http://www.allbusiness.com/business-planning-structures/business-plans/2528-1.html

  • Hello all!

Well, due to buying a new car,im going to have to start all over again! doh! My OH does need a car as he works shifts so it is a much needed item. It is a 1.1 and only £120 a year to tax, whereas the last one is a 2.2 and over £270 to tax. Im still aiming for £11k even though i am no technically a month behind...

I noticed today that innocent smoothies are having a 'try me free' promotion, you just need to send of the recipt and they will send a cheque.

I will report back later as im off to the library to do some work, eeek!

Just another thought about the things people did last year.
quite a few dribblers got there own little businesses going. Nixi does PR and blogging as well as Avon: Paula does clay cartoon versions of people called sulkies and fantastic cake toppers; Dilli has her fabulous blog and invitation business - her invites blew me away when I first saw them; yukki and Mabel both have jewellery businesses and both make gorgeus stuff; skint raked it in with her ckaes and sheer hard work as well as taking on a weekend cleaning job all ontop of her day job. there are more but my brains not on full power this morning lol.
I'm not suggesting people should do these things but thinking about your interests/ skills/ things you can't get that you wish were available etc may help you come up with something of your own.

  • hi everyone. well this morning i made £10 in amazon vouchers on my survey. so that's a start. i am awaiting a £50 cheque from yougov which they said they would send out this week. the cheque they said at the end of last year they claim was wrongly printed so cancelled. pretty rediculous really (i guess others on here had the same problem ). all in all i'm determined to be really dynamic in my war against debt so will be active on here. must get active on ebay. i have loads of decent boys clothes (11-12 year old) that have hardly been worn-some haven't. be lucky all!
don't get downhearted if you don't win today-you may win tomorrow

Skint student nurse it is up to you how you calculate the challenge. If you made money in january but had to spend it on the car than you still made that money as extra income and it can still count unless you choose not to do it that way.
I do not plan to fill an account up with £11k by the end of the year and then pay it off my debts. I plan to make the money and pay chunks of it off my debts as I go which makes more sense in terms of reducing my overall interest and monthly payments. I will keep a record of how much I make. If I spend it on stock which I then don't sell then I will deduct that from the 11k as it was a mistake in the challenge that didn't pay off. If however I make the money and use it in day to day life for crises or debt payments I will still include it. I will be paying about £250 off my debts in early februsary with money I earned through the challenge. I still count that in my 11k.
    Everyone does it different though.
