  • Well I'm going to count my money jar monies and see how much I have to get me started!

Hey I have a little tip, unless you already do this! At the end of every day put ALL you loose change in jars (I use Pringle tubs haha) and the next day draw out more cash to use then put all the change in at the end of the day. You do go through money quicker I guess but this spare money might be used for things you don't really need. You know if the change is in your pocket you more likely to spend it.

Be good to know if anyone else does that?

does anyone know of any shops where you can go and have a play with an ipod touch to try it out?
DS really has dream of owning an iphone but not for using as a phone. obviously an ipod touch will do more than an iphone but that is not his dream.
he knows if he gets one for his birthday it will probably be a bashed up first generation one and will not have a contract with it so will only be able to use to download apps via wi-fi and camera etc. he has had this dream for ages and really believes it will happen. he doesn't care if he gets no other present for his birthday in march. so we are thinking of asking people who are close to hin like grannys and grandads to put a little each towards it and then we should be able to afford a second hand ancient one.
I want to show him an ipod touch first though even though he says that is not what he wants.
He wants to make apps for iphones and we have found a site that helps you to make games for ipod touch and iphones but you do need to own one to test it out on.
I guess as this challenge is about making our dreams reality I want to help him find a way of learning that it is possible to find a way to do things. he doesn't care if its old and scratched and can't be used as a phone. so I think that makes it easier for us to found a cheap one that we can afford.
However we could get a better ipod touch for the same money but that is pointless spending the money if its just going to get left untouched. the thing is he doesn't want things for how much they cost but just cos of what they mean to him. sometimes buying a roll of silver foil for model making is just as important and better than things that cost a fortune. ipod has been a dream for so long though.
sorry for being waffly and off topic.

I save £1 coins in the tubes that 'fizzy' vit C tablets come in. Each tube holds £40 believe it or not & the coins fit in them snug.

Try one of the actual Apple shops - they have them out on display so you can play and see if you like it

  • woo just made over £3.50 so far betting on the arsenal game yesterday and liverpool today. Only betting small amounts and none of my own money has been put in as this was from an initial £10 free bet last march and I remembered I had the credit in my account just this week! I dont even watch football so im just looking at the probability of certain things and taking it on that! :)

    Success Story -
After selling the most easily sellable items on eBay I looked around. I have a Rosetta Stone language cd from a few years ago that is quite scratched, doesn't have any original packaging etc but it works fine. I had planned on throwing it out but after starting this challenge and seeing an amazing Rosetta Stone advertising campaign online I decided to post in on eBay. 2 days on ebay and already at over £50!!!!

    Shocking. I'm so happy!
    Wins:
July 2013: 1.Men's bespoke bracelet 2. Signed Primal Scream album
  • back again!

Ive got some peace and quiet as OH has taken DD to watch the football at his dads so i can crack on with the money making! The ebayer came to pick up the bookcase i sold yesterday and paid cash (£15) so that went straight into the pot :) Ive listed more on play and ebay so fingers crossed!

Ive completely lost track of what my total is,so i will work it out and then update my signature!
    ;)

That's cool, easy to keep track of :j I bought a £1 saving tube thing which holds £1,000! Had it over half way last year then I had to pay my car insurance with most of it :(

I WILL fill it this year...even if it kills me haha
