im in, i no im abit late but never mind...
I dont think i will be able to save 11k tho, but i will save as much i can.
Ive just listed a few things on ebay, made £170 last week that hasnt went in my bank yet. But il going to put that in my savings.
My friend was throwing out some clothes, so i asked her if could have them to put on ebay and she said yes..so we are going halfs on what they make..
I started doing a meal planner, i write down what meals i need and then see what i have already got. I went shopping with a list and only spent £39.23 for a family of 3.. So next week going to try and get it even cheaper.lol
I also check my online banking everyday, and if i have the odd pounds in my accounts, i tranfer them to me savings. You cant get the odd pound out of the bank so it might aswell go into my savings.
    good luck every1..
savings for 2012.. New year new me.. Going to save save save... and not spend spend spend. :rotfl:

Is anyone else having trouble with eBay. I can login but can't seem to access any of the selling pages. :-(

Bit of a late start but I'd like to try too!

First question (Of many I suspect): What's the best way of selling 'old' clothes? Most are hardly worn, just too small(!).

(Previous attempts at selling clothes at a boot sale were unsuccessful.)

I find selling clothes a bit hit and miss on ebay. You have to make sure you take decent pics, and describe them accurately so you avoid the numpty's who want a refund cos they didn't read properly. Having said that if its kids, maternity, designer or even decent shop names they will sell. I got a good price for Levi's I sold recently, but I sold at a Buy It Now price, and not auction. It costs 40p to list for 30 days, plus 20p for the sale to Paypal, plus the approx 10% between ebay/paypal on top. I still find it worthwhile doing because I get tax free money selling off the stuff we do't want, and I love recycling, so anything which I think is too tatty for ebay, can be sold to a textile recycling company, some of whom pay, and the one I use pays me 50p per kilo, and donate 10p per kilo to a charity, so we all win!

I have been ebaying my butt off all day long, and it did go a bit slow at one point, but I was able to get loads on. Haven't met my target which was to have 80 listings, I need to do another 14 before midnight. Just came on here for a break

halight - thank you for the tips! The book we were looking for and eventually found was the millers guide to collectables price guide

IMHO the Millers guide is quite optimistic and appears to list the best selling prices, rather than 'normal' ones.

A search on ebay completed listings gives a far more realistic price of what something's worth.

My problem with toluna is that I did a big survey for them about a month ago following the little survey and I still haven't got any points from it but because it wasn't from an email invite I have no idea how to trace back and ask them about it..
how long does it normally take for things to show up after you've done the big survey does anyone know?
