Hello all
OMG how quick does this thread move! Well done everyone on the progress so far! I have been working on school stuff most of this weekend so not had much time to do moneymaking stuff. However Im onto it now and have a couple of hours to do this. So far I managed to sort my car insurance out this afternoon and Im made up because I get a discount for being married! Chuffed! Im gonna check how much we save a month and add this to the total. I am also starting up my own business with the help of mum and dad as investers to try and raise some extra money.
Now - I need to take some photos for my business website and get OH to edit them (Which may take abit of doing as he is in a grump because of the Liverpool match!)
- I need to ebay as much as I can today
- I want to nip to boots and see if they have any of those vouchers for free make up I have seen on the free boards.
Wish me luck!
Good luck to those with interviews! Remember deep breathe!£707.70/ £11,000 - Make 11,000 in 2011 Challenge
Only £10,303.30 to go!
5 free films 2010
Christmas 2011 fund - £240 -
Please can I join in too?
I am just catching up on the thread up to page 19 so will be a while yet!
I am a SAHM with a 3 yo DD and 1 yo DS. Don't really have the option of p/t work around DH work hours. Don't think I can get anywhere near the 11k target. Had personnally set myself a £2011 in 2011 challenge but figure that joining this can only spur me on to better things, right?
I have worked out our budget for the year, finances are very tight but I plan to do the following towards the target-
-Save any money left in current account every month (were in OD everymonth last year so need to really stick to the budget plan!)
-any £ where we make savings against budget amount for big items eg. holidays, car servicing etc. this will probably be done at end of the year when I have total expenditure for these categories
-Have joined grocery challeneg on old style board will add anything I have left from grocery budget each month so that's a big incentive not to eat take out!
-Sell on ebay (managed £800ish on ebay from april last year which paid for our Christmas food and presents so need to build on this further)
-sell kids outgrown/unwanted cothes/toys at nct sales
-have a sealed pot to which I'm adding £2 coins and other change DH leaves lying around
-Going to ditch phone contract to £10 payg monthly jobbie so that's £20 extra
-carboot - my sister and I love doing these together so may aim for 1 a month
We moved house last year now have a very big mortgage and a house that needs refur/decorationg. We are doing bits and pieces as we save/ earn the money. Also want to save for extension in next 5 ish years as dont want to extend mortgage so this would go towards extension pot.
Will sit down and have a think for some more ideas. Need to open a savings account and start a spreadsheet - I love spreadsheets!0 -
UhOh its the 2nd jobs night out tonight. Previously said I would go but i've just told them that I'm skint so can't go. Its not a lie, I am skint
.
4 more Mondays to payday and somehow I only have £100 to last - oops!0 -
Hi All,
Hope everyone is getting on ok.
I've made about £35 today for eBay sales (A juicer I used 3 times and some shoes!) so I need to update my total. Got another package to go to MusicMagpie and one to go to WeBuyDVD's which should help bring in some more pennies
I'm getting slightly obsessed with this - I've told my boyfriend if he doesn't start moving, he will get listed! :PDEBT FREE SINCE 25.07.14!
Debt at Highest (November 2010) - circa £40k

Welcome MummyEm - sounds like you've got a great plan already! Thanks for sharing it.
Nikki - being skint is a good enough reason not to be going, i'm sure they'll understand as many people are struggling at this time of year. Sunday's a funny day for night out, I'm usually in my PJs by about 6pm on a Sunday! (as i am now)
cmills16 - i know what you mean about OHs and Liverpool's match, mine's the same. I think he's more cross because it 'shouldn't have been a penalty' and 'it shouldn't have been a sending off!' Yawn!
deq123 - well done on the eBay and the bingo!Just £10,852.28p to go...
Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...";
And then do it.0 -

I back from the car boot sale, just about defrosted,it was so cold! the stuff we put out froze over in a matter of minutes! we cleared a lot of junk out the way but my OH was literally giving stuff away. we made a modest £36,usually get almost £80ish,not bad given it was cold and there wasnt many pitchers there and we only had random odds and ends. our sealed pot got opened as we had no change so were starting again on that one!
got a few bids on ebay and my GHD's have been listed...i hardly use them and they are like new so i thought they could go too.
back to ebay now to list more stuff!
You did well on the car boot given the time of year and the cold.
Get some things arounf you and come spring im sure you and your OH will make some very good money at the car boots.
Keep up the good work:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -

ive literally taken stock of the freezer and cupboards and made a meal plan for next week - got to stick to my budget this week if i want to get anywhere! OH is annoying me (gloating about the footie,he is a man u supporter, his brother is a liverpool fan) so the xbox and his kung fu dvds are next to go on ebay
ive decided to sell my nursing textbooksits like its the end of the line with uni but they will be all out of date by the time i go back. Does anyone know the best place to sell them other than amazon?
