Wilf55 - I have a blog and making money from it it doable. I wont happen over night and you do have to put effort into your blog but you can make money by
    - selling advertising space
    - receiving products from PR's and writing reviews on them
    - writing articles for companies

on Sunday I can add my no smoking money

No smoking since Sept 10, that's a great achievement! Fab total too and really helpful to see the breakdown of how it's made/ saved.
    Just £10,852.28p to go...

    :D

    hi all
i would be interested in how you make money from a blog too i havent got one but would be interested in doing one

i would also be interested in setting up a website but am a complete novice

any help or advice would be great

    thanks

I've been running my blog since last year, and did so as a result of last years challenge - it gave me the kick up the bum I needed to get it going.

The best advice that I can give is hard work and networking via twitter and facebook, it takes time but gradually you will get more readers and don't get discouraged. When I started last year I had a about 200 visitors a month - now I am at about 12,000 visitors per month and growing.

Also it is worth visiting problogger http://www.problogger.net/ they have loads of tips and advice for growing your blog.

Another key thing is to research your niche and decide what you are interested.

Also be regular, if you only post when you feel like it you won't build up traffic. Decide a schedule and stick to it.

Same advice for the website, do your research first before buying a domain name it will save you a lot of time and hassle.

Grrr I hope the snow doesn't settle, it's such an inconvenience. None down this way yet.

I got as far as printing off the form to register my small business today - not as far with it as i'd like but further than before! Baby steps! Had a lovely day though, so that's done me a lot of good :)

Here's the link to register a business in case anyone's interested:

Wishing everyone a great weekend!!! x
