I must be in the minority as AO are one of the best companies I have ever dealt with. I find their customer service and delivery outstanding and I recommend them to all of my friends.0

I ordered a fridge freezer from AO. At the time I specified I lived in a 2nd floor flat and didn't receive any further feedback relating to this.
I was given a delivery date and the truck arrived with two delivery men. They said they "didn't do stairs" and left it on my doorstep in the rain.
Thanks AO.0 -
Was your machine OK Lottie? That's pretty bad

Why would you allow them to "leave it on the doorstep in the rain"?
Cooker hood, double oven, hob, fridge freezer, washing machine all purchased at better prices than the shops, delivered in perfect condition & exactly when they said. Excellent communication all through on delivery days. Would recommend AO & use them again.
Maybe the moral of the recent stories is to insist on your delivery instructions to be printed on your purchase order (or confirmed via email), ie lane & stairs limitations. Also, when the driver calls to give the more precise delivery time, remind him then (so he has time to sort out complications before arrival at your home).Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0 -
It seems to me, and I may be wrong, but if you live in a house with accessibility problems or in a flat up two flights of stairs, then it would be a good idea to let the supplier know this at the time of purchase. In fairness, we have always had excellent and courteous service from appliances online.0

I have purchased several white goods from AO, never had a problem at all.
When you are placing the order there are questions regarding access, steps etc so the drivers should have all this info as its placed onto their delivery notes alas a lazy employee can ruin all this.0 -

As stated in my OP, I did!
we got it up the stairs in the end, I enlisted the help of a stong friend who carried it up with my hubbie.0 -

.
What do you suggest I should have done?
They had already mad it perfectly clear they weren't taking it up the stairs.
Telling the, to take it back wasn't an option either as I had already got rid of my old fridge freezer about half an hour earlier.0 -
I, too. have found them to be a good company. However, they always phone you later to flog you a longer warranty but are not too pushy. Problems seem to be around delivery rather than the goods themselves, so if you have awkward access it is best to sort it when ordering.Je suis sabot...0

Choose between 'take it back' or 'leave it out there in the rain', which is what you chose. Why let your old one go before you got the new one, doesn't sound as if yours was broken, better to clutter up your place with 2 of something than to be caught with your pants down! Lesson learnt I think. Sorry.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0
