Sky magic eye Alternatives?

Might sound daft, but it is possible to connect them the wrong way round and they don't work that way.
EDIT: Check that the light on the eye comes on when you connect it in line close to the Sky box. That'll let you know (a) that it works, (b) that the Sky box power is properly enabled and (c) which way round it goes.
EDIT AGAIN: Are you getting the Sky signal on the bedroom TV now? There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.

Could the problem be the Junction box(tru which all aerial cables supply the rooms)?
I connected the magic eye upstairs, could it be downstairs?
Does the position matters for the light to come on??0 -
Try temporarily connecting the magic eye in line close to the Sky box downstairs to see if the light comes on.There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

Your junction box may not be passing through the RF2 voltage needed for the Eye to work. If Fifer's suggestion in #26 works then I would suspect that is the problem.

I would agree with this, these things need perfect connections to function.0 -

and a distribution box/amp that actually supports active 9V DC passthrough.
For example out of these two, identical in all other respects, this does not but this does.
I know because after lots of tweaking with the former to get a Sky Eye to work I ended up replacing it with the latter and it worked out of the box.

True, however I don't recall seeing an amplifier being mentioned in this case.
I think that it is just bad connections causing the problem/s.0 -

It worked, that is the light came up when i plugged it downstairs.
The main issue NOW remains the RF/cable/signal stuff.
I am currently checking up the cables in the garden.
Thanks everyone.0
