Living in Cardiff which has not one but two universities we have at least two cash points that I know of which give out £5 notes - you should see the queues by them week before pay day :rotfl:Loan - [STRIKE]£6991.95[/STRIKE]£6180.01; Barclays Res - [STRIKE]£600[/STRIKE] £0 - £22 per week , NWB Grad O/D - [STRIKE]£1185[/STRIKE] £887.86 18.28% SWALEC - [STRIKE]£700[/STRIKE] £0 NPOWER [STRIKE]£220[/STRIKE] £0 Kays - [STRIKE]£591.28[/STRIKE] £0 TOTAL DEBT - [STRIKE]£10,288.23[/STRIKE] £7,000.01 31.96 % Paid off. Pippi, would value a bit of advice about which sweetcorns would be best for my use.
Oh and spotted my garlic this morning, it's on the bedroom window sill and has sprouted about 4 inches high, every single one of them!
they've even taken the little lids of the propogators. Guess i know what i'll be doing at the weekend - preparing a bed for the little things.

last night my garlic was relegated to the greenhouse and the space in the windowsill propogaters was taken by some onions which had yet to shoot and some tomatos which need to germinate. At least the garlic will have time to aclimatise to the real world before it's planted.

Woo hoo to the garlic
sorting out your seeds and will post asap
Did your strawbs arrive - they might be sulking they had a major hair cut before I posted them.
glad you're growing lots - yippee

Good going with that garlic LT - mine will have had a nasty shock as it has been planted straight outside. mine just upped and bogged off last year EH, only have 3 which have bothered to come back this year, hence giving them a fighting chance in a pot to start with this year.
No parcel's today Pippi but we do have 'countryside' postal services here. Mr LT is at home tomorrow so he will be there to welcome them into the fold.
Apparently my bugs bunny decided to be houdini today, thankfully (and it's a long time since i've said this) my upstairs neighbour spotted him and restricted his explorations and put him back in his hutch. We've had a 'chat' with him and explained the house rules and he's on probation. The little bu99er decided to give my two spring cabbages a 'trim' whilst he was exploring. Only 4 had survived my lack of care and winter, we had two for dinner on sunday and left two for later.0 -
hope all are well today,
this morning Mr LT and i have had a lazy morning, he's off to work soon
and i'll get organised.
I have managed to complete my census form online today, it's soooooo easy online, much clearer. Don't forget to fill your's in, governments use the details to decide how much funding your hospitals, police, local authorities, teachers etc get. Ok they will take an age to do it, and may ignore lots of it but it's got to help, especially with the rate communities are changing and the high needs for services for those who's first languages are not English, Welsh, Scottish etc (ok i know there isn't a language called Scottish but you know what i mean
)
On much more interesting lines, last night after sorting out Mr LT's finances for the next month, i started playing with my spreadsheets.
I've opened the 8% regular saver account with First Direct and i've worked out my financial priorities for the next 12 - 24 months.
To summarise:
1 Pay off Norbert loan, rate: 7.9% Due to finish: July 2012, expected to finish August 2011.
2 Save maximum in 8% savings account £3600 by March 2012 Currently £25. Can't access or lose interest.
3 Overpay mortgage, fixed at 5.63% until March 2013. Max monthly overpayment £500 Can be used to offset future payments if unable to pay mortgage. (see 6 below)
4 Pay off M&D loan, rate 0% Due to finish: Dec 2013, expected to finish Oct 2012
5 Save £1.6k towards legal expenses for buying new house, planned to have by Oct 2012, Currently £0
6 Save £9k OMG savings, to cover approx. 3months joint net salaries, by Jan 2014. (we're under review at work, plan to reduce our section in 2014-2015, but could happen earlier.) Currently £0
Basically Norbert is taking current precident, just paying minimum into 8% account until this finishes, and usual agreed payment to M&D.
Then from Sept, put as much in 8% savings as possible (money allocated to Legal expenses, OMG, M&D & Mortgage o/payment).
When on track with max balance allowed in 8% savings, put excess as mortgage overpayments.
when 8% rate finishes, allocate out, and up actual payment to M&D, and pay the saved lump sum across.
continue with savings accounts, overpay mortgage at £500 and buy a nice house........
Sorted, now just have to achieve it. Was fun playing with the numbers through
God i'm sad! 0
