went into town after finally waking up OH.
Was very good whilst there - i bought no more toiletries. :)

So to sum up todays shopping trip. - Mixed
forgot to take old mascara to get a new one on the Clinique counter :(
almost bought a Radley bag :) but turns out that despite being on the bit where it said it was reduced to £40 (bargain) it would actually have been about £150 if they could have actually found the price anywhere :(
bought bag in TK Max which will do the same job and which is leather as well, should have been £40 but as the long strap was missing i got them to knock it down to £35 :) i wouldn't have used the strap anyway but they weren't to know that. Sounds expensive for a bag but it's a laptop/briefcasey type one which i need for work. It's not professional to turn up with a shopping bag really is it?
didn't get near Wilko's so wasn't able to pick up any stardrops :(
OH got his brother's chrissy pressy, reduced to £8 and then used an old gift card with £4 on it :)
Bought new work skirt, not in the sale :( but did remember to use birthday gift card so saved £10 on it :)

this pretty much sums up my day

watching Miss Potter which i recorded at Christmas and getting used to OH being at work on a night.

Well done on the shopping trip. I would have been tempted if the radley bag was actually £40 - I am the ONLY woman in my family who doesn't have one :(

Chev i'd love to find somewhere that does conversational lingo but everywhere is designed for a GCSE or something and i want to learn it less formally IYKWIM. Languages are not my strongest point.
Pickle unfortunately there's no lemon drizzle left at the moment, there is one small coffee cake left though which you're welcome to. I've now frozen my lemons, as advised by Pippi (i think) so they are ready for when i do my next batch. I've some lovely tins which make little individual loaves so i'm thinking of doing a mixture of flavours and freezing them.

Wol glad to see you here, i haven't been through half as much as you have but i'm looking forward to catching up with you more this year. I do lurk on your diary still :)

Kat, my mum and step mother are huge radley fans, my mum did mention that she a bright orange laptop bag but i'm not brave enough to go out and about with it. She'll never use it so i guess i should offer to ebay it for her or something, but i'm off ebay at the moment.

OH has survived his first night shift, as have i lol he's asleep at the moment so i'm pottering around quietly. I'll check all the bank accounts next which will fill another half hour or so.

*Whispers* Thanks, but I'll pass on the coffee cake - coffee has never been a favourite of mine. I like the sound of the little individual cakes, though. See you later when I can smell baking from your thread!:rotfl:

    .

Have you ever looked for a language exchange on Gumtree?

A friend of mine has done it twice before holidays (once to learn Brazilian Portuguese and second to learn Russian) and I even gave it a go for Arabic when I convinced myself this Moroccan guy was the one for me.

Basically you advertise which language you are looking for and which you can offer (ie English). When I did it, the guy had excellent English but was going for a high level qualification and wanted to improve his colloquial English and also his accent. We spent some time with him teaching me some basic words and stuff and then we just had a conversation and I corrected errors he made etc. Quite a few people wanted to speak with native English speakers, I presume for that kind of reason, to perfect their English basically.

It is quite MSE as no cash is involved and you can do it safely by meeting in a central coffee shop or similar.

I live in London so there is no end of folk from different parts of the world offering various languages and I'm not sure it would be the same where you are but might be worth considering?
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)
