can i just check something though..... our beloved Martin states when trying to minimise your driving costs that you should never let your petrol tank get too low as it just means you have to use the nearest petrol station and end up not paying the least amount that you could do with a little more planning. Now 'the' red shiney kettle is currently highly discounted with an additional 20% saving until Saturday, should i follow Martin's advice and get the kettle now whilst it's at it's bargain price or shall i wait until the current one jumps in front of the removals lorry (not on the end of my foot i hasten to add!) and then end up paying a rediculously high price because i'll take any kettle because we need one. I wonder what Martin would say
I think you have to ask yourself whether this is truly 'the' red kettle to which your future is clearly destined to meet up with...scout around and see whether there are other red kettles which might hold more allure for you... you have a whole day ahead... if it is, then who am I to go against our beloved Martin's advice??0 -
i think i shall ponder the question overnight lol0

well i didn't dream of red kettles lol
day off today, so getting ready for my trip to the bank. Being very grown up and thinking about ISA's for the kids money to sit in before i drip feed it to their regular saver.0 -
If it were me, I would feel duty bound to have the red kettle NOW) provided it's THE red kettle not just any red kettle) - unless you are likely to be overflowing with spare cash when the current one gives up the ghost. After all, savings made now equal money in the hand later, unless you go mad and spend it one something else.
Besides, it's a red kettle. Need I say more?Miggy

ok voice of reason...dont buy the kettle, esp if its the expensive one Ive just seen! If you must have a red kettle why not look here
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Funky-Retro-Dark-Whistling-Kettle/dp/B003CPQVSK/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1325249842&sr=8-11
Cheaper equivalent...if you absolutely must buy it...but why not wait until the kitchen is done or set yourself a challenge to get one for £x and then hunt for it...much greater satisfaction than just buying the first one you see plus youll then be the proud owner of a new kettle that you know you got for the cheapest price you could....
Sorry to hear about gallstone..mums had problems and its been agony at times...thankfully seems ok for now...
Do you know what date you exchange and move? yuck to practicalicalities though...its miserable isnt it...we are still unpacking from having the floors done.Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
thanks for the voice of reason ISOM, thankfully i've gone off the boil with the kettle...... i have one so it's a waste even it it's a yummy scrummy kettle.
Mr LT & I wondered around a carpet shop today, didn't buy - because Mr LT is also a voice of reason, but at least now we know numbers that we could be looking at for each room so budgets can be ready in place for d-day.
No dates yet for the move because everyone sensible seems to have the week of between christmas and new year - wish they did that at my place but no such luck.0
