today i paid a visit it to Homebase, my second in two days hmmmm i wonder if that requires hospitalisation.

I still miss that kettle even though it was only on loan whilst i was walking around. lol it was a bargain as it was reduced by £40 and then would have had another 20% off but we have a kettle so i don't 'need' another one.

i do feel that i need kettle loss counselling.

I honestly don't know which of the 3 comments above is the funniest, but you do make me smile. xx

well it's time for the monthly and annual financial update.

annually speaking, i've paid off £8 1/2k this year, which doesn't seem like much but this year we've replaced the double glazing in our flat, decorated, put down a lovely new floor in the living room, re-done the porch and sold our flat. Next year will the start of something wonderful with our new home.

this month i've paid £250 to mad mavis which brings that down to £4,150. Much as i hate to admit it, the money that i have been saving to pay this off in a couple of months time is now likely to be used in part to replace the bathroom in our soon to be new house. Mavis won't have a problem with this but i do feel bad as i really wanted to clear my debt by 31/12/11 and this year have already had to come to terms with extending that to March 12 because of the above. According to the new spreadsheet it will be cleared in Aug 13 which is just way too long so i'm gonna have to get back on the straight and narrow to cut that down some.

It's slightly over 3 metric tonnes of pennies, if that helps to visualise it...

thanks Z but i'm not good at visualising such things, weights, distances all pass me by, if you referenced to chocolate bars or bags of wotsits then that may make a little more sense lol

The same weight as two to three cars.

Respect the loss, and allow yourself to grieve. It's ok to feel a little blue - but in your heart, you know that now simply isn't 'your' time for that kettle...have faith little ferret, it shall be yours in due course.

....and if, in the meantime, your current one happens to meet an *ahem* 'tragic end' after a hard day boiling water for removal men etc. (like stepping out in front of their lorry), well, then just accept the gentle push from fate and go get that kettle.;)

lol Nora you make me smile, it's like you can read my mind lol

can i just check something though..... our beloved Martin states when trying to minimise your driving costs that you should never let your petrol tank get too low as it just means you have to use the nearest petrol station and end up not paying the least amount that you could do with a little more planning. Now 'the' red shiney kettle is currently highly discounted with an additional 20% saving until Saturday, should i follow Martin's advice and get the kettle now whilst it's at it's bargain price or shall i wait until the current one jumps in front of the removals lorry (not on the end of my foot i hasten to add!) and then end up paying a rediculously high price because i'll take any kettle because we need one. I wonder what Martin would say
