hi ISOM, cold is still lurking in the bunged up stages which is still a pain in the neck.
I'm pretty much working Christmas as i've only got the bank holidays off and OH only has Christmas Day and boxing day off. (Unfortunately) we've got to spend those two days with the outlaws which i'm so (not) looking forward to. We'll be driving down so i'm now starting to worry about the parking bit whilst we're there but as there's no trains running there's not much choice otherwise.
    What have you got planned?
  • poor you working so much - dont' suppose you get extra

I've planned on a trip 'sooth' to scotland and england

    We'll see if I get there :)

I'll be at the outlaws too if we get sorted down sooth - we can keep each other sane. :)

What you planning for xmas dinner
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:

hi catzpaws, was thinking of you recently and how you'd been doing, glad to see you back.

    today's update:
now have a date for windows being replaced, three weeks tomorrow which is no time at all really
flat is still horribly cold, in fact it's blo99y freezing.
    written all my christmas cards
OH has finished wrapping and labelling things, so just two things left to wrap

still not decorated the living room, starting to wonder if there's any point in doing that.

great to the windows coming soon..they'll make a huge difference
  • Yes, you won't know yourself when they are fitted! Our new heater is already having an effect - the bedroom was almost *too* warm this morning!

well done for having your present wrapping done too - I've done MrEH's stuff and we had to get some done to take over to family on Saturday, but there is still a pile to get done!

Hi LT, aw, I'm good, thanks... Ready to start focusing more on money saving again (or actually, debt busting, more to the point). Just started a new diary to try and motivate myself.

Our house is freezing too. Central heating on all the time and it's still blimmin freezing in the back of the house. Grrrr!

EH you make me feel bad that we didn't investigate and invest in storage heaters when we took our out, but the old ones had been so bad it didn't give me much faith in them.

Thye old ones are shockingly bad. Very little control, and in my experience very little heat for the power consumed. The new ones however are a different kettle of fish entirely - the ability to use semi-automatic settings to give a heat boost later in the day, some even have a form of thermostatic control as well. The new one we've just had fitted was hot enough this morning that you couldn't put your hand on top of it without snatching it away again. There's no question - storage heaters are still not as good and controllable as central heating, but they're an awful lot better than they used to be.
