Nothing to do with our flying but I just have to tell someone. We have had no TV for about an hour and DH went outside after much persuasion into the dark and ice to investigate and there was a huge owl sitting on the dish!! He called me (very quietly) to come and look and I saw it fly off.

Aahh, nice to see an owl, they're a very shy creature.

We some times see a sparrowhawk where we live, we get some big fat wood pigeons.

Just so you get an idea of life in valliland at the moment

came out of school around 4:30 (needed to get home before 6 so I could phone Thornton's Customer services - and a well-named department THAT turned out to be - one VERY happy bunny here - well chocolate reindeer, but I digress...) and it felt MUCH warmer - definitely milder. Giving colleague a lift, I'd gone to the vallimobile to warm it up and she came, got in and said she felt it was much warmer too...
Coming to something when -3 feels WARM - just goes to show how cold it's been :rotfl:

DS has been pressed into service and told to take an Amazon sale and an e bay sale to the PO so that's been done!

    Jobs

remember to email/phone county council (see AnWs;))
    remember to email CSA
sort out boxes due to arrive on Thursday and allocate contents appropriately
    write/post xmas cards

I give in. Last night a wee pensioner we know was in the pub he was very drunk and had a couple of falls outside trying to make his way home so OH brought him across the road to here to stay over night. He said he'd sleep on the couch but OH said no just to go into DS2's bed as he could sleep upstairs with DS1 and DD would go in with us giving him the room to himself. Made him a cuppa this morning and he headed off. About half an hour later I went in to strip the bed and he had wet it right through the mattress, through the valance and on the carpet. Duvet was soaked through and the sheet was missing. I have spent the day looking for it but couldn't find it. Just went to get DS2's PJ's and found the sheet under his freshly washed clothes that I did at the laundrette yesterday. I could cry. What was the point in doing that the other stuff was so badly soaked you couldn't hide it. I had a huge argument with OH but I know he was only doing the man a good turn. OH left at lunchtime to get to his work in Creiff tonight I just plucked up the courage to phone to see if he got there as I was worried he wouldn't get there as the roads here are terrible. .......... and breathe.

Now the question is can i possibly clean the matress (it's covered in frebreeze), or do I just fling it and scrounge the money for another from somewhere? I think that's the best idea.

Tomorrow 4 greetin' kids and the laundry the sequel..............................................

Off to find something to do. HHC here I come.

The only flying I managed to do today was unloading/reloading the DW, s&s the bathrooms and clearing/wiping the kitchen worktops.

I went to watch DS nativity and managed to fall over for the 8th time on the way home, much worse than the previous 7 times this morning! My feet just slid out from under me and I ended up lying flat on my back on a very icy path, with my mum trying to pull me up, but almost falling over herself. I was in agony but couldn't stop laughing long enough to get up for nearly 5mins :rotfl:

After that it took me an hour to walk what should have taken 15-20mins. I've really hurt my pelvis so apart from making some soup and bread rolls for dinner I've been sitting on the sofa with a pillow between my legs feeling very bruised! Baby is jumping around as usual, so I'm not worried about him, just not sure how I'm going to manage the school runs tomorrow. Mum can't get her car off the drive so can't help :(

I'm going to very gently do what I can in the living room once DH goes to bed and is out of my way! I really want to get the Christmas decorations out of the cupboard and put up while DD is at preschool tomorrow as a surprise for when she gets home.

Well that would have been the ideal:rotfl: but it took ages for DS1 and OH just to cross the road with him that it would have took several hours to get him home here yesterday, were in lovely central Scotland and no one could go anwhere or if you did you had no hope of getting back and to be fair it's not that much better the day!

I shouldn't really complain as the alternative of him falling and been left to the extremes of the weather by himself and having that on me is far worse than the cost of a replacable mattress. The only thing is DS1 nipped to the chippy just at the top of the road and he's sitting in the pub the night again!
