I need a bigger freezer (and somewhere to keep it)
More tins would come in handy.. might restart my 'bottom of the wardrobe' stash after it is emptied of christmas presents :p

Power here hasn't been an issue.. but i am needing to restock on batteries and lightbulbs and if it kills me (which it might) i need to get a new fitting in the loo.. sitting on someone elses cold wet pi$$ cos it is dark is NOT fun.

MUST stock up on coal and logs for the front room.. the electric heater in the back room is all well and good.. IF you have electricity.. I can even live without the laptop but absolutely not heating!

I must start saving for the next gas bill.. it will be a killer but I cannot keep this baby warm! She is a fish I am sure!

British gas homecare is WONDERFUL!!! I have a leak on the boiler.. they are out within a couple of days.. :D..

I need a snow shovel or 3.. 2 strapping males and a weedy type one in the housse are perfect for throwing out to clear the road and paths! Once one crew sets out a clearing a few more appear and before you know it the street is cleared!!

Must write myself ANOTHER list.. I am addicted to lists!

I can't get on with those low rise things, I feel like they're falling down.
Same here, and they are far too draughty! In fact if anyone knows any stores (we seem to have many of the UK chains over here) that do normal rise then please let me know! :)

LOL! I know the feeling, I keep getting my threads mixed up and don't know where I am! :D
We will blame you for saying bring it on when the snow comes back.:p Mind you I love the snow, it's the ice and slush I hate.

Like others said, I learned that having plenty of food in isn't enough ... I want nice things!
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

  • that I need thermal socks or welly boot liners - freezing cold feet do not make for safe walking...

that I need to watch the outside temps and wrap the freezer up (in an outside shed) when it gets very cold, and make sure the essentials are in the house freezer (no fun wading through & digging out to get to spare milk etc) before the white stuff.

that I need more HM soup making - we finished the last lot in the last cold weather, nothing as warming as soup..

that I need to rejig my holiday plans and have enough spare leave to cover any snow days we have from work

Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

I need to go and dig up some more leeks and celeriac from the vegetable patch tomorrow before the icy winds and more snow arrives to freeze the soil again, otherwise I'll need a pneumatic drill and won't have them ready when I need to make more soup.

Sorry for your son, but at least your neighbour tried....

Too many people seem to think that it's everyone elses problem to clear paths and lanes. We live fairly rurally and there is no way "someone" is going to clear our lane so if we want to get out we all need to get out there with our shovels and give it a go.
