sorry for bothering people again with more questions but i really am clueless with this....

was trying to unlock the phone to accept a 3G sim but kindly been pointed out that this can't happen with a 2G phone. however my problem now is that when trying to insert a normal sim card back into the phone it switches on, no network or signal shows up and then starts switching itself on and off!

any ideas/help

sounds like a s/w problem and may need a reflash
have you tried a different sim?

Insert a WRONG sim card, one that doesn’t work in your phone. When it says phone restricted, press ‘undo’. It will ask you for a restriction code, and input the code into the box on the screen.

phone is now allowing my orange sim to work so phone can now do me until i sort a new phone out
