Evening all
I've had a good day. Went to my parents, only my Dad was in so got to hang out with him for an hour. I'm a Daddies girl so that was nice. I have a pile of post to open now (really need to change my address, only been in the flat 16months! :rotfl:). I had a parcel which I thought was odd as I hadn't ordered anything. It was a lovely posh shampoo/hair care set which I had been sent to try by one of the magazines I subscribe too :j:j. After my parents I popped in on my friend who lives in Canada's parents as she had asked me to drop some gifts in, stayed there for half hour having a chat. Then I went to my nan's, she had 2 of my cousins there so I played with them for a bit.
After all that I went food shopping. Disappointed that Aldi didn't have much fresh stuff in, but got enough for now. I bumped into an ex-colleague in Morrisons and caught up with her for 5mins.PP - enjoy your Pizza - I love Dominos pizzas! we're also doing x factor and pizza plus ice cream:D
God I love Dominos pizza too. I am trying to avoid it though as I'm on a diet. But normal Sat nights usually mean meeting up round one of the girls with Dominos, crisps, wine and X Factor, but we have only done it once this year as we have all been too busy!
I need to decide what to have for dinner, either mexican or indian, depends on how much cooking I want to do.
Have a great evening all

Evening all
It seems I've been really busy today, or maybe it's just that I've actually been out and done something for the first time in days
The day started quite well, really, although I didn't sleep too well as I had an anxiety attack just before bed and woke during the night, worrying about the OH. So, I decided that as I knew he was in port, stuff the cost, I was going to call and tell him what was going on in his absence so he was at least prepared and could defend himself.
So, 28 minutes later and at a cost of £40!!!:eek::eek: I'd had a lovely chat with him, had calmed down, and felt much better than I have done in days. His friend isn't very happy with me for telling the OH what's going on, but I don't care, my loyalty is to my husband, not him. It basically appears that the two main people involved in the hideous e-mail debacle are causing trouble where there is none because of jealousy, bitterness and their liking for causing trouble for others
After that I walked the dog and decided that it was time to dig the car out and leave the village to go shopping, so grabbed mum and off we went. Got home 2 hours later having hardly spent any money, but the change was lovely
Then, mum and dad had an unexplained leak which I went and sorted (it was the washing machine which I plumbed in earlier this year), then walked the dog and treated myself to some Yankee candles from one of the gift shops.
I've just had a call from the OH who's bought a Kenyan mobile so it only costs 8p per min for him to call me, and nothing for him to receive calls :T. We had another lovely chat, and he's off out now to see the night life of Mombassa . He's been offered any number of security contracts with this company, but still feels he wants to pursue his army career. I'm not so sure, and shall do my very best to persuade him otherwise when he gets home
That's it. Leftover smoked sausage stew for tea with a glass of rose wine and strictly on tv. For the first time in days, I feel I can relax and not worry about the OH or anything else; so far we've had an A &E trip, the worst weather in years, OH being 'bullied' and a plumbing leak, all of which I have sorted without falling completely to pieces. But to whoever is listening up there - I'd like to have a quiet 10 days now before he comes home thankyouverymuch!
The weather seems to have returned to normal too - drizzle. At least it's not freezing (yet), and all the roads are clear. I might go for a day out tomorrow and spend some more money, or stay in a clean - living the dream!
Hope everyone is ok. Hugs to those that need them.

Hi redruby:j:j
If you trust your DD and her friend then i can not see any problem with them staying together. When i was her age my mom and dad would go away for a weekend and id have a couple of mate round to stop. We would always have a bit of a party (dose not mean your dd will) When my mom came back shw was always pleased with how tidy the house was:) We use to go over it with a fine tooth comb to make sure that we had not left anything about taht could have got us into trouble:D She always use to say what tidy young me we were and could not understand why i was not like it normaly.:D She has since told me that she knew what use to go on but she never said anything as we always looked after the house while she was not there so there was no problem.
If you trust your DD and then let her be grown up for the weekend. She wont let you down as she wonts to be treated as an adult and there for she should behave link one.
You have a great relashionship with your DD and she know were you are if she needs anything.

Evening everyone
been MIA again, but have tried to read everyday. Even though I'm not working at the minute, don't seem to have enough hours in the day.
Ds2 due to snow has been off for 1 day and school closed early the other 2 days. Our snowman us still standing in the garden even though it's raining. Today I have been helping out a school fair, went home with an empty purse but ds2 enjoyed it. Made 36 cakes and iced them with ds2 help for the cake stall.
Not much os today apart from dw on and cooked tea.
Beemuzed - great news about your ds.
Taplady - hope your dh is feeling better.
Bramble - well done on the job.
Redruby - am sure your dd will be fine, she sounds very sensible.
Jackieo - hope you feel better soon.
Bitsy - my ds1 got lost in a museum once, he was hysterical when I got to him. My ds1 before this happened was always running off but after this he was alot better.
Npm - hope the snow in your area is thawing out.
Sorry if I have missed anyone. Hugs to anyone that needs or wants one. Enjoy the rest of your evening. Take care

evening all
there's been about 2ft of snow hanging over the edge of the roof outside my room for several days now and it finally fell off today. Thankfully it didn't take my guttering with it, but it has knocked the wee box thing off the sky dish (might be called an LMB??) but the same thing happened to my neighbour, and he said his cousin is a sky engineer so he's going to look at ours when he sorts out next doors.
Made it all the way to my nearest town on the bus today and managed to get plenty of supplies in from Tesco, Lidl and Aldi. Got a big packet of mince which I'll turn into chilli, spag bol and lasagne for the freezer. Popped in to see my former neighbours (who are in their 70s) on the way back, but thankfully their family had already checked on them and they had plenty of food.
Ashamed to say I went to the chippy on the way home and bought chips which I ate walking down the road before they went coldbut to be fair I only go once or twice a year if that! Put some scampi in the oven when I got in to finish off my very lazy dinner, then finished off the last of the HM rice pudding with tinned pears for afters. Will probably make another one tomorrow since we still have some whole milk (or Fat Milk as I like to call it
).
I might try and venture out on the bus again tomorrow if the weather is ok again. Could do with picking up a few more bits and pieces for the storecupboard/freezer as well as Christmas presents. Royal Mail tried to redeliver my parcel from Play.com this morning, but I didn't hear the door again so will have to go down the Sorting Office on Monday or call and ask them to re-redeliver!
I'm currently snuggled up in my sleeping bag with 2 pairs of PJs on (thin summer pair and fleecy winter ones on top). Got a candle on the go as I still haven't made it to Ikea for a new light bulb, but it's nice to have that bit extra heat as well as the nice scent. Off to watch a DVD now then hopefully get a good night's sleep as I'm knackered from wading through so much snow today!
Night all!0
