  • Hi
Just got back from Jessops Swansea, asked the sales guy if he had a scandisk 1gb memory stick pro duo(for my k750i). Yes sir came the reply £54.99.I gave him my sheets of paper I had printed off from the amazon website(scandisk 1gb for £17.89). His jaw dropped, that's below our trade price he muttered. He re read my sheet again, then he tried to say the offer was on cameras only. I pointed to their instore poster which stated ANY product. He finally admitted defeat and said ok that will be £17.89, I pointed to the poster again to the '110% difference'. He got his calculator....that will be £14.18 then.
    Bargain!!!!

    Regards

  • I passed this on to a friend of mine who was going to buy a camera from PixMania, but thanks to this was able to get it straight away and save £4 too.

As others have noted, Jessops wouldn't accept the PixMania price, as PixMania is in France.

However thanks to the camerapricebuster link posted by Goll116 he had a better price up his sleeve which they did take... Thanks Goll and everyone at MSE.

Not bad considering the Amazon Marketplace seller one is a fake !

they will probably still not price match pixmania though as they are not uk based - i tried to get them to price match (nikon d50 , dec last year) and the guy just laughed when i told it was a pixmania deal .

I work for Jessops and apparently we now match Pixmania because they were bought out by Dixons. We also match amazon.co.uk.
If anyone has any Jessops related questions, let me know. :D
  • The following comes direct from a long-serving Jessops store manager!: Jessops Price Matching policy doesn't apply to web sites such as Pixmania who are European importers to the UK (stock is likely to have a European plug on it etc), and they wouldn't price match after the sale as a rule. This is a nationwide offer and all 320 branches will offer it, as should the telephone ordering service. This has come about due to a change in comapny attitude that comsumers can not contemplate the differences between high street and internet, ie Jessops online is the same as Jessops on the high street and not two seperate entities, and so should offer the same prices. Some good deals to be had!
  • Hooray! A big thankyou to MSE! :grouphug:
I went to Jessops today and got the camera I was waiting till after Christmas to get. :santa2:
The staff at Truro were very helpful, I was in and out in 25 minutes.
I showed them printouts from the net and they said no problem! :T:

I got a Panasonic LUMIX DMC TZ1 (silver)
    Jessops price: £299.99
    Purelygadgets.co.uk: £176.95 + £5.00pp
    -110% discount = £170.19

I also got two Sandisk SD 1Gb memory cards
    Jessops: £29.99
    purelygadgets.co.uk: £19.99
    -110% discount = £19.99 each.
(I know its not quite right, but I didn't have proof of these with me)

It took only an hour or so to find these prices, and adding on some screen protectors for £4.99, it all came to £215.16
A total saving of £149.80. Nearly enough for another camera!
      :rotfl:
The only downside was I couldn't get a spare battery, they said it was a special order and would take up to 4 weeks. But as I can get them cheaper on the net I thought I would get them later.

Again, BIG THANKS to Truro Jessops and MSE. :grouphug:

How does this work where the Jessops in-store price differs from the Jessops online price?

Like Kernow Kid I'm also after a TZ1. These now have an in-store price of £299.99, but an online price of £269.99 or £249.99 (depending on colour). For obvious reasons I'd prefer Jessops to use the £299.99 price in their calculations!
