With mention of the 'response team' and all the visits, it looks like you are talking about the initial census collection. The current discussion is about the follow up census survey.
There is so much confusion about the two in the wider world, it's a bit disconcerting to find that same confusion amongst the census staff!
No, I've actually worked continually for the census since early March. First as a Special Enumerator; then I got asked to do extra work as a Census Collector (for three weeks); then I had the CCS Interviewer role. The CCS co-ordinator definitely talked about those going out to our 'definite' refusals as the "response team". She hadn't worked on the census collection roles, I don't think.

Of all three jobs, the first was definitely the best. I actively enjoyed it and was sorry when it finished. I also had a sense of achievement as (unlike the other roles), I'd personally seen through delivery of census forms to around 50 establishments, and then collection from almost all. There were just a handful of outstanding forms when I ended that role and handed over.

The CCS role ends tomorrow (although nothing would surprise me if I get an extra week somewhere else), by which time I'll have worked for the census for 14 weeks (and in six distinct areas), when I only expected six weeks! I applied for the CCS role halfway through the Special Enumerator job.

Where to start .... well until I get my full payments I will keep quiet :-) Did anybody who finished on Friday the 3rd June get their Holiday pay today - 17th June ? I received my completion payment and phone allowance today but no holiday pay ? I would rather ask on here for free before wasting money on phoning the useless ONS/Capita drones.

Just had a good read through 10% on here, most of what I was going to say has been said :-) I guess I should wait one more friday for my holiday pay.

I agree. When I first starting working for the Census in March it took about 25 minutes on hold for them to answer the phone. Now there are fewer people left, they answered the phone almost instantly when I phoned up about a week ago - and were helpful as well.
