Scullery! Great word!
Only other people I've heard use that are my dearly missed grandparents!It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
In answer to everyone posting about problems with corners in kitchens - live in a circular house!:cool:It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0

OH and I disagree on the way forward (he being Mr Practical and me being Mrs uber emotional) so lots of heated debate on the fire escape right now (which is where we meet to discuss ''strategy''
)
Working through. But I suggest the right answer is somewhere between the 2.
Good luck - would love to know the good news.#
We miss you here btw...:)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I have this argument with Isaac. He's got an excuse, though - he's 6!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Hello to you, too!
I'm just filtering and bottling my sloe gin, at this time of year....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I'm absolutely shattered. Istanbul last weekend, in court every day this week, culminating with being up until 3am writing a skeleton for next week, then getting up at 6 to go to Manchester. Just got back!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

But PN doesn't want to do uber-geek coding, and doesn't want to manage a team of people. Her expertise is in public domain internet - hubpages and so on - and things connected with internet advertising, not tracking down covert cells of terrorists or whatever. She wants to live near beaches - they're in short supply in and around Cheltenham - and she doesn't want to be tied down to a 9.00-5.30 job. She's a rather non-conformist person who would absolutely hate to have to see a vetting person every year or six months or however often it is, and be grilled by a stranger asking detailed questions about every aspect of her private life.
In short, I think a GCHQ job, even if she got it, would make her miserable.It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

When people say act your age & all that, I have to explain to them that I still feel exactly the same way as when I was 6 years old.

lir hope all is ok. Did you blackout the same way as before, or different?
Are you alone?
I had a friend who had some form of seizure not too long ago. Scariest thing that ever happened to him by all accounts. His dad was with him - they were diy-ing at the time. His biggest fear was what if his dad hadn't been there & rung an ambulance.
I sincerely hope this was an isolated incident for you.It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0
