When you're not the parent - and it's not your house - you have no say. It's their house/their rules. I keep nagging about forms/etc, but I can only take a horse to water....

I have no authority here. I can only suggest... not make decisions. And when I suggest to the point of arguments, I have to back off.

Could you get your siblings to present a united front and have one of them be spokesperson for the whole family?

    "Dad/Mum/ whatever

You have paid taxes all these years and you are entitled to some extra money. X or Y will sort out the forms or questions for you. We just need to know a couple of things".

It might set the ball rolling if they think they are "getting some of their taxes back".

We are going with a pair of French patio doors 1.9m wide in one downstairs back room and a 3.6m 5 section slide and fold door in the other - although I much prefer wood we are sticking with upvc as we are not changing all the existing windows plus I am not sure wood actually suits a late 30s semi that well - we would certainly be the only wooden windows on the street if we did have them.

My only concern now is that we won't actually have a window to open in either room.

Yes. You found it even with my bad spelling. I did mean to leave you a link, sorry.

We did some shopping around for those doors - didn't end up buying them as we went bigger, but there was once a 20% off windows and doors event at B&Q and that was marginally less than we had seen it elsewhere. There are a few internet companies - something like Distinctive Doors perhaps?
    I think....

so....I collapsed today. Anyone can faint and its really hot . I don't know if I fainted or if it was a brain broken type of thing (it was a big symptom early on but rarely happens now). I've scared myself silly and I'm shaking like a leaf.

Not sure what to say, but sending thoughts, prayers and a big cyber-hug.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Nothing to perk a gal up like gossip. I've pulled myself out of sorry for myself state of yesterday by wrangling an invitation to a time and a place with someone well in on the current yuck. I shall blonde my way to some info.

We just found out someone close to us was ''on the list'' (but is not worried about anything personally!)

I've been away, so will be posting some stuff relating to what you lot posted days ago.

Firstly, the above quote. What on earth does it mean?:o It makes absolutely no sense to me.:o

I can see the words are english - the language I speak. But it has a completely different meaning I think!;)

edit: I also had a look for corner fridges. There is one but it looks a bit clumsy. Besides, dh reckons he ''needs'' an ice dispenser.

Show DH the dictionary definition of Need. Then show him the same for want..

    Then remind DH you've compromised.

I have friends who use "need" all the time, & I have to be honest it bugs the hell out of me. That & same difference!
