My head's in a spin too...but mostly because I went down a hill in a plastic ball today.

I booked one of those once, for friends who were visiting the area... stood in a field, another couple were there, no sign of the bloke. We'd not paid - others had, through some Gift Day company.

We all shuffled off in the end.

I can't say the letter "r" most of the time. I phoned Orange Broadband once .... couldn't bl00dy SAY it!!

I often ''w'' rs and have a very slight lisp. If I'm speaking lazily where these become slightly more obvious dh says rhubarb in Italian (its avery funny speach inpediment in a language with so many rolled ''r''s). Luckily both are surmountable for me. I used to stammer, it came on in my teens and went quickly. I think I was just going through a stressful time.

misskool, I've always thought that looks like fun, was it?

Its ok. Its really not too bad. :) Lack of sensation is always better than pain! :)

edit: tbh, its more of a pain avoiding jeans than not being able to feel your tummy :)

Off on a public information tangent. A lot of people probably don't know that private sewers are going to be transferred on 1st October (it is now official, the legislation has gone through). In essence they will become public sewers.

The implications of this is if you have a private sewer on your property, it is going to be illegal to build over it from 1st October, without paying a small fortune in fees to the sewer company.

I know people on here are doing building work. So, if anyone on here is building an extension, or planning one, or knows anyone else who is doing similar work, it might be a good idea to get anything over a sewer built quick.

We have a manhole cover in our garden? Would that likely be part of the legislation?

lir: great fun! Not for everyone but I enjoyed it. Still feeling the after effects though

IANAL, but my understanding is that until the pipe is shared by two separate properties, it is a drain, and so not illegal to build over.

If a pipe is shared between two properties, it is a sewer, so it would become illegal to build on it (for most sewers, within 3 meters) from the point that it is shared. And it will be a public sewer from 1st October.

The same legislation applies if it is a sewer that runs under your property even if you don't use it yourself.

There was a building plot for sale round this way about 4-6 years ago, ex-council where the garden to the side is as wide as the house is, so divided off to sell as a plot. The details said there was a sewer running through it and the buyer would have to move that, at an anticipated cost of about £25k

Grr. Broken the lawn mower. its coped well with the rough grass here. Poor thing.

I want to find a very second hand ride on lawn mower really. Though its good exercise walking behind a mower.
