Those of us with different ancestry in our hair follicles can have v. long hair but never, ever use a brush. My hair, strightened, goes down to my bum now, but dry it hangs (I think) around mid back?
Ah, my hair is fair, very soft and fine, quite thick, and very straight. So unless I brush it, I look a total mess. Dragged through a hedge backwards type mess.
Are you mixed race? Sounds like Afro-Carribean hair you're describing?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
My haircare routine is simple.
Take a can of Mr Sheen and a polishing cloth. Buff scalp to a shine.0 -

I'm a ''right mongrel''. But, as far as the eye can say and the ancestors will tell its all white (I have my doubts). In my family ''my'' type of hair is called the ''swedish hair''. But its Swedish not in a wavy, thick corn blonde way. Its insanely curly and usually in my family red or blonde. when I bother to ''do it'' its corkscrew curls. when I don't its just a bit of a mess.today its scraped up in a messy bun while it dries. which leads to ''bit of a mess'' hair.
edit: as a child when living in countries/neighbourhoods where it was more the norm I had my hair corn-rowed (I've never written that?). Mine is way curly even for the ''swedish hair'' and braiding suited it. These days I tend to plait it in two plaits, because its easy, but then you realise you look like you have some sort of problem with maturity.
DH's hair is crazier still. Its insanely thick, also corkscrew curls. For a while we had matching almost-afros.0 -
I have long (well, up to shoulder blade) black hair and I brush it maybe once a week? It's so thick and heavy it just falls down straight.
Weekend away would depend on where I was going and what I was planning to do but I am well known for packing less than most women.0 -

Your hair sounds ideal. Mine is actually not very thick, plus I lost a lot because of swelling in my head restricted blood flow or something, then the thyroid packing up.Still, looks ok.

Oops - I have gone out with girls with hair like NDG, MK and LIR (and PN too probably) and I have to say LIR type hair is the most trouble, especially as when styled one is allowed to look but not touch with can be a bit restricting at times...
I once grew mine long enough to have corn-rows - most painful experience of my life and within 3 days I could not stand not being able to wash it.I think....0 -
What lir said. Oh, and you seem (as far as one can tell on a forum) to be a good listener. That counts for loads.PasturesNew wrote: »I spotted this title earlier:

I zone out as soon as I sense that the oh is about to start speaking. Maybe this is the root of all my problems.
In eurostar terminal. I have never seen so many stereotypical French in my life! Stop dipping your croissant in your coffee!0 -

Mrs. & Mr. Generali
I started balding in my early twenties and by the time I was 35 it was all gone
It honestly never bothered me. Sure, at first there was that 'oh sh*t' moment, but soon resigned to the inevitable. No comb-overs, implants or toupets for me, thanks.
Mrs. Wheezy says I look 'distinguished' as a baldie, isn't she sweet?
It's definitely the MSE way to go. The amount I save on shampoo, conditioners, hairdressers and combs...0 -
The new house they're just going round on HUTH is the ugliest house ever. Nothing matches, no thought in the layout, the quality of the doors, stairs everything looks cheap. Terrible coloured varnish on the stairs and you can see even on the TV it's been terribly applied. It's just horrid. I swear my 10 year old would have built a better house than that. It just looks cheap. EA says 'fine' and criticises layout. Indeed.
Grumpy this morning. Viewing the house we're considering again this evening and I'm tired of waiting. Lost my keys as well so we were late for school. It's a 3.5 mile drive through lanes and then they'd just decided (yet again) to close the one up to school. The diversion takes us almost home again. I couldn't got to DDs assembly because I had to leave the back door open. Missed gym class too, then found the keys in front of the washing machine. The washing machine hates me.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
