....you are looking at payback times of between 15 and 20 years or more. ...
My thinking is "so if you wait about 12-15 years there'll be something better, neater, more reliable, that generates a LOT more, for 1/10th of the cost... so wait 12-15 years and do it and by year 20 you'll have made up the cost and recovered any potential losses you might have made by not being an early adopter.0 -

I guess that basically it works by melting the paint & it then re-sets? I'm following the instructions, & I have the right stuff, but it isn't working that well. Is it one of those things that you have to do several times to get the full effect? Any tips on how to make it better/easier?
What you're actually doing is removing the very fine top layer of paint. The top layer gets discoloured by the sun and contains dirt... and T cut lifts off a very fine layer. So it all looks lovely again.
Then I think the paint fairies spit in the scratches, so not sure how/why (apart from that reason) it does seem to remove scratches.... which of course it can't really.0 -

Pretentiousness is bad for the soul, but a bit of pretend/escapism is, IMO, quite good. If doing the washing up I can momentarily be transported to a Parisian rooftop, or a field of flowers or a flower laden oasis in the desert then that's all well and good.
Until I was bought my first bottle for my 18th, I thought all perfume came from the market (£1) or Boots (£3-4).0 -
...clean some bird muck off my car
Wet wipes. Keep a resealable box of wet wipes (baby ones with the plastic lid packs, 80p if you get a BOGOF) in the car - they just lift it off if you get it the same day.0 -

How come you lot get a bank holiday for it & we don't?
No idea. The Kiwis get a day off and I think that Canadians do too
I think it's nice. It's a bit of history in the calendar like ANZAC Day and Australia Day but less jingoistic. The flags don't come out.
Aussies love a bit of jingoism.0 -

Probably the same reason that the Irish get St Paddy off, the Scottish get St Andys day, and the English and welsh get b****r all.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
