How come you lot get a bank holiday for it & we don't?

Thanks STing. I think chewmylegoff was mainly right - my post only quoted GDB's own typing, which was fine, so chewmylegoff couldn't see what the problem was. So chewmylegoff thought I was trying to say that kWh was wrong (which I wasn't) and was therefore puzzled as to why I thought so (even though I actually didn't).
This is all getting very convoluted.
I'll own up, It was my fault, as I corrected the website.
I agree that the figures have low credibility, but even if you accept that they are correct it's not a sensible proposition. Of course, for Tesco or someone else who wants to make a pseudo-green point, it's absolutely fine.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I guess that basically it works by melting the paint & it then re-sets? I'm following the instructions, & I have the right stuff, but it isn't working that well. Is it one of those things that you have to do several times to get the full effect? Any tips on how to make it better/easier?
T-Cut is the work of the devil. It doesn't melt anything and therefore will not restore anything, it's abrasive. Unless the scratches are very fine indeed, it will not help. It's just like sanding a fine layer of muck off.
It certainly won't help with chips, you just have to fill those in. Ditto scratches, if they're of any depth, you don't have much of a choice except to fill it in.
T Cut has some kind of repuation for working miracles. It does nothing of the sort and if you go at it too enthusiastically, it will make things worse.
This advice from someone who once used the scouring side of a sponge to clean a new BMWEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I'm not sure. I had assued it was the domestic scale models only that don't make sense (unless you switch the bigguns on to look good). There is a relatively local planning situation with solar and wind (large scale) I've been following and the wind power it seemed, was much less land usage for out put. Can't remember the details right now, they might surface later....0 -

i think it just works by filling in the scratch. i tried this once, and i think that after spending about 20 hours trying it, that you can't really do much about anything but the most superficial scratches. i also seem to remember that t-cut is a bit rubbish and there are better products on the market, like scratch-x or something.
but i think you really need a machine polisher to get any proper scratches out. too much hassle for me, i just gave up being protective of my car after i mangled an alloy on a curb trying to get out of the way of some marauding old biddy. it took me a couple of days to get over it, but probably for the best in the end!0 -

Yeah... over Christmas, my Dad "helpfully" decided to clean some bird muck off my car using one of those green scouring pads. It was on the roof, the bonnet and one of the wings. So I have mini scratches everywhere now
I've always meant to save up a little and just get it professionally touched up, but as the car gets older, I realise that if I get the work done, the next day it'll get written off by a tank or something :rotfl:0 -

i like the fact that your first thought is for the duck's health.
the nice people thread: saving giant rubber ducks nationwide from glandular disease.
perhaps it can be coaxed back to health in your ickle paddling pool. you could start a duck sanctuary.0 -
IMHO it's always best to drive a car with a conspicuous dent or two. We got a new car 6 months or so ago and it's a nightmare because nobody gets out of your way. Or at least it was until Mrs Generali decided to find out whether a massive concrete pillar was stronger than the door of our car or not.
Now as soon as I indicate people brake.0 -
I'm over here today, having an "olds" mini crisis: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3284710
I think my dad thinks it's "something I must have done"
I've grown up always being 'blamed' for things - with any assumptions being made that it must be me. He'd take the word of a total stranger, passing in the street, over what I say. A random l00ny in the street could tell him I'm a high class hooker and he'd believe it and I'd be in trouble when I got home. Never have been believed, always blamed.
I've got a bank and go online.
Lots of online fraud.
2+2= must be something I've done.0
