Yes thank you. The electrician was all geared up to come round after work. H got back first, did the same thing I did this morning and it all came back on.
He thinks it's something to do with wet and the washing machine. It's leaked. And then dried out over the day.
We popped round to friends' this evening and had a sustainable energy conversation. He's a science teacher so managed to explain things in language I can understand. He pretends he's not giving me the same talk he gives a 13 year old.I've told him he's doing the shopping for us if we ever get to the point of spending money on things like that. He'll know if it makes proper sense or not.

ETA For those who are wondering what's wrong with those (and please ignore it if it's TMI and you don't want the complications)... it's because watts and kW are have already got the time included. Watts means "joules (of energy) per second" and kW is "thousand joules per second". So to have kW per day is like saying the speed of your car is 40 mph per day. A kWh is the total energy you get if you run a 1kW thing for an hour, so you can have kWh per day - that's fine. If something generates 5kWh per day, it means that in one day it will produce enough electricity to keep a 1kW heater going for 5 hours, or a 2kW kettle going for 2.5 hours, or whatever. HTH.
I'm particularly glad that you understand itMaybe I'd just buy what you buy
Is it more like mpg then? If you're using that kind of analogy? The size of the engine using it and the fuel produced, for the amount it costs (sort of)Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I have two I use - Black Cashmere, which is Donna Karan, and wonderful - very different from anything else.
And Allure, which I use when I feel like a change - I think that's Chanel....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

It might mean rule 37 of the Coronors Rules 1984:
37 Documentary evidence
(1) Subject to the provisions of paragraphs (2) to (4), the coroner may admit at an inquest documentary evidence relevant to the purposes of the inquest from any living person which in his opinion is unlikely to be disputed, unless a person who in the opinion of the coroner is within Rule 20(2) objects to the documentary evidence being admitted.
etc etc further detail omitted
Yes, I think that must be it. It doesn't say what act it's s37 of. All I've got is the notes taken by someone (possibly a barrister) that the PI solicitor asked to attend the pre-inquest review. The notes appear to have been written with the expectation that they would be read by people who knew all about the case and the law and the process, and I don't know very much about any of them. But what you've said fits in with the way the s37 bit is referred to in the notes, so I think that must be right.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

I think my favourite of all time smell is an aftershave called Fahrenheit by Dior. I'd snog a tramp if he had that on.
when I was 18, an American bloke bought me a bottle of Chanel No. 5. then completely ruined it by saying he'd bought it because his Mum used it....
I don't think I know what Fahrenheit smells like. I do remember a ludicrous advert from when I was a child, which said in breathless over-Frenchified tones...... "FAHRENHEIT...... POUR HOMME..... PAS CHRISTIAN DIOR....."...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Roughly 650 sq feet? Doesn't sound too small, really. Not huge, obviously, but not bad.
Our present flat is just under 1,000 sq feet - with OH, Isaac and me living here. Our new place, still knee-deep in builders, is 1,400 sq feet.
OTOH, my parents' house which has just gone on sale is 4,500 sq feet, according to the floor plan!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Well, I have to teach it, so I ought to understand it...
I wasn't talking about mpg but mph. Miles per hour is already telling you something that happens "per length of time" so you can't have a speed that's mph per day - it doesn't mean anything. W per hour and kW per day are the same kind of mistake. Does that help at all? I could explain this so much better in an interactive way if I had you in front of me, or even on a phone. It's much harder typing it.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Its ''a good size'' for a pond. Its not, IMO a lake. But we'll continue to call it ''Lake Cake'' for the sake f DH's dinghy's name. When we get one.
How is a riding arena different from a riding school? My sisters have the latter, at my parents' house....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

In most areas of law, you have a provision for non-disputed stuff to be read out in witness statement form, to save the expense and hassle of calling live evidence when no-one's arguing about it anyway.
Rule 37 is the inquest version of that.
And sections in an area of law are frequently referred to without the Act, assuming that the reader knows about it. So in criminal law you get references to "s.9 statements", which amoutns to the same thing in criminal trials as rule 37 does in inquests....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
