PN, how is your parent's health atm? Any news?
silvercar, thank goodness you got it checked. I'm so glad that its ok.
DH is still having this light treatment for psoriasis. Last week he got terribly burntI've never seen him burnt before. BUT his skin is looking better. He's got to start wearing a vest and goggles in the sunbooth now, so I suppose that means terrible tan lines. He's been looking rather delciously brown all over recently.
Apparently its the ultimate cure to being vain. You go into the room with a sock on your ''ahem'' if your a chap, and have to ''do a little dance'' for the duration of the treatment. He didn't think it could get much worse, now he'll be wearing, googles, a vest, one sock on his ''ahem'' and doing a little dance. How the nurses keep a straight face I don't know.

Just to be clear, I wasn't really worried about it - buts it good to be reassured its nothing. Does that make sense?
Now I just want rid of it because it looks yuk (at least I think so, friends claim not have noticed, given I'm very freckled anyway).I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I've had numerous non-cancerous bits cut off/out. It's only "the big one" that is noticeable. It will look great once its done. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Supposed to take 2 weeks' meds, then back for assessment to adjust levels, but there was confusion over the meds as the boxes looked the same and said "1 per day", so one was taken per day - but the boxes contained two different strengths, supposed to take one of each. So the original 14 days has had to be started again.
Then there was the thing last night, and I have no idea really what's been said and what's true/untrue.
The old lives in his own world and so will tell you the "truth" as he makes it up from 3 parts what he heard, 2 parts what he thinks he's read, then joins the gap with his own fabrications: then he believes his invented story. I don't know what he's saying to Doctors, I don't know what they're saying to him.... but he'll be translating everything into his own version.... IYSWIM.
And I can't phone up the Doctors and get at the truth - and even if I could I couldn't argue the toss as he will stick with his version. He'll self medicate on a whim too, and has been doing with other meds, which've caused 999 calls in the past.
It's all a mess really.0 -
Pastures,
It sounds like a nightmare for you in so many ways. Just remember that whenever it gets you down you can always come and vent on here about it, if it helps at all to know that the nice peeps are all behind you.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

I have always tried to keep a distance from them - so they don't become dependent, but some line seems to have been crossed in the past month and now there seems to be an expectation; I am finding things left undone, little jobs left for me, that used to be done promptly as part of their little rituals.
And a carpet cleaner appeared on Monday .... and it's been "left in the way" as a permanent silent prompt for me to Vax the whole house.0 -
Oh do you? Then I've been misinformed. Thank you. What happens if you don't accept it?
If you accept a caution, you don't get prosecuted for whatever-it-is. If you decline it, you might be prosecuted....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Well, you did it in a different order with Isaac. You're just catching up now.
It's not that I've suddenly developed a problem with baby first, just that I like to do one major thing at once. Hence flat then wedding then baby....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Its a tough balance this ''nuture'' without ''stunting''. I would think overanalysing it ...which walk to the shops/school/playground which time they stay at home etc etc would drive one mad. Coupled with the fact people mature at different rate and at different times.....you can only follow ones gut, not helpful if officialdom counteracts that...but then necessary if your gut is worng...I'm dizzy.
At 11 I was certainly more sensible than I am now. I really shouldn't be left alone.:o:D
I think it depends a lot on both child and environment.
Isaac, at 5, is still pretty bad at risk assessment. I wouldn't let him wander round central London on his own, for example. he does race round with the dogs outside at my parents' house in Kent, with someone keeping weather eye open....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Blimey, really?
I knew about no-honey-before-12-months, but not strawberries. Isaac's guzzled a fair few....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
