Very brave of you to give a visiting child strawberries - did you have some anti-histamine and an epi-pen to hand?

No, but I asked his mother who's already fed them. :) TBH, I don't feed ANYTHING without passing it with his mum, even asking if he can have some water in his beaker!

Yeah, I thought you were supposed to wait until the little un is about 5 with stuff like strawberries?

Its really interesting how this stuff changes....like the peanuts thing. fwiw I can catagorically recommend not dining out with a pregnant English or American person at the same table as a french or italian one. I thought there was going to be a war!

was that the MSE diy sos team effort? Someone in another thread Davesnave and I frequent regularly was involved in that one.

No, a hairdresser converting a spare room into a home salon.

Yup, it's up and running......None of us has posted there for about 6 weeks.

But like a spare tyre, it's nice to have it. Thank you! :)

My spare tyre is actually a bottle of gunk that you spray into the tyre, allegedly.

When I had mine, the mid-wifes would dish out some cream that was meant to soothe sore nips. One of the ingredients was peanut oil!

It's more complex than that. I never wanted to run a forum, ever. They're a pain in the butt and suck up too much time. I put it up for one day when MSE was to be shut. I grabbed the first bit of free forum auto-install software I found in the control panel... and people do have to put in a password and I've even set it in the past so I have to authorise new members.

But forums are a right royal pain in the butt, unless you're just doing one and you've got all the time in the world to be able to practically guarantee you can tend to it daily.

So I actually have zero interest in it :)

You're right on that one...I tried giving mine away last year but no begger wanted it! Think they all realised the stress involved in running the blasted thing.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    For vivatifosi mainly and others.

I had this "thing" grow on my skin.

It appeared and then it grew and then it changed colour and then it grew some more.

So I followed vivatifosi's advice and made an appointment. The receptionist said I should see one particular GP who specialises in skin stuff, but she didn't have a free appointment for 3 weeks. So I made an appointment for someone else.

She takes one look at it and says its a (boring) skin tag that I have caught on something and it should drop off of its own accord! So I asked her to remove it, but she won't. So I've now made an appointment for the specialist skin GP in 3 weeks time, by which time it should have dropped off!

So thanks viva, at least I know what it isn't.

silvercar, good to see that you acted promptly on it. Should also be good for you to not have to worry about it.

Also good for Viva - her signature clearly works!

    Great news Silvercar!

A couple of times I've been PMd about my signature and people have gone to their docs. Every time I hear something like this, I know the sig is working and so it stays up for another year, so thanks Silvercar. All the time I know it still catches someone's eye I'll keep it there.

So, I forgot to mention, I got my herts library card. But not quite.

The envelope was addressed "Mr" so my dad opened it. Then a second one came today with my PIN in it, addressed to "Mr" so dad opened it.

    :)

So then I had to go through an extremely long and protracted and detailed and mind-numbingly tedious explanation of what it was etc. This is why I don't do many things/much, I can only do stuff that he doesn't know about as otherwise I have to explain the minutiae of everything so he understands/knows - and even that's dangerous as then he starts to put half information together with invented information. e.g. I can expect him in about a week to ask me when I'm going to herts/what for ... and I'll have a heated explanation about it all again, to try to explain to him I don't have to go ... and then a full explanation about the Internet, card, ebooks .... which he won't understand. So then there'll be a mocking tone of "You're mad" that I've got it as he doesn't understand.

    :(
