I hope he won't mind me saying, and please don't quote me in case I have to remove this, but Daisy has unfortunately had to go back in to hospital.

Fingers crossed for Daisy....and of course, positive thoughts being sent her way.

And thanks guys for your kind comments.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

First this morning I checked my yesterday's earnings.... these are an indication that the site was up. I could see at 8.30 that I'd already earnt £0.61 so that says to me "site's up". I then spent 2+ hours this morning writing a new article and an hour adjusting some older ones .... then I checked my earnings again at 2pm ... £0.61. D4mned website's been down all morning. Five of my prime hours in the week :(

Once you've "lost" the money, you can't ever get it back (unless you invent a time machine).

Such a nuisance.... but I can't check the site every 30 minutes or I'd go insane. I've got email alerts that come out to me when it's down, but there are variations of down. Alerts are sent if it's unavailable - this 'down' was that it had gone into maintenance mode, so a site checker wouldn't have spotted that. And the alerts come to my email, which I've not checked yet today.

There's anxiety and stress when you live your life by doing "not much most of the time" and take an income from online.

The bizarre thing is that analytics said I'd had 4 visitors this morning, yet the very second my site came up again it said I had 61 visitors on there.... I can't believe they all found it in the 2 seconds it took me to load the site.

    :(

This month's income was looking quite healthy too.... until this morning. Oh well... I need to try harder I guess.

It's been up now 22 minutes and showing £0.61 still .... I "missed the rush" that Tuesday mornings/lunchtime bring. I just double checked my site's up... there are now 126 people on it. Sounds a lot, why aren't the bugg4hs clicking on ads!!!

Thoughts with IM and Daisy and family. :(

I found the news article. As someone whose employment is totally dependent on passing a CRB for working with children, I find this very very scary. I also find it bizarre that it seems to be OK for 11-year-olds to travel to school alone on foot or by bus, but not to be alone in their own homes. Surely they are safer at home than out and about??

ETA I'm feeling better now. After moaning on here, I posted a similar moan on facebook and somebody commented, offering to babysit on Friday. And then this morning I got a text from the friend who'd said she couldn't them on Thursday. The thing on Thursday that had caused the problem has been rescheduled, so she can have the after all. So I am slighty ashamed of having thrown all my toys out of the pram, but not really repentant because I've now got what I want. :o Sue continues to deserve (and get) my utmost admiration.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

While its not what we would want for our children, there are pre UK secondary age children all over the world working for a living, or in care roles for siblings/parents. Its a tough balance this ''nuture'' without ''stunting''. I would think overanalysing it ...which walk to the shops/school/playground which time they stay at home etc etc would drive one mad. Coupled with the fact people mature at different rate and at different times.....you can only follow ones gut, not helpful if officialdom counteracts that...but then necessary if your gut is worng...I'm dizzy.

At 11 I was certainly more sensible than I am now. I really shouldn't be left alone.:o:D

Today I registered our interest in starting the ''organicfication'' process. It seems with the poultry the expense on a small scale can't be recouped, the soil association suggested to me, with no coyness, that I keep the birds out of the area and certify everything else. Its not drugs, but feed that pushes the price up. Doubles it in fact. Not sure now. I'd rather keep flexibility. Some non chickens also have an extra hardship: no commercial mixes being certified as organically right. So you have to buy organic and GM free straights and compile a ration. Easy enough with some species, tougher with others, especially the high protein needers. I'd also have to stop feeding scraps. Also complicates business....lostinrates organic smallholding, with non organic egg and poultry sales sounds somehow dodgy!

Its about £450 a year certification fees, but you get a grant that in our case would just cover that, but not the increased feed costs.
