Can I ask how mattress toppers work in practice as far as sheets are concerned? I am looking at buying a 7cms topper, but our fitted sheets strain to go over the mattress as it is. With an extra 7cms there's no way to do it. We also have a mattress protector which won't go over the combined lump of the mattress and topper. Any ideas?

    Looking at this one http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1273283/Trail/searchtext%3EMEMORY+FOAM+MATTRESS+TOPPER.htm#pdpFullProductInformation3/

    Thanks!

Very expensive for what it is. You'd get it for a quarter of that on Ebay!

You need deep sheets or you will rip a lot of corner stitching and/or your OHs nails.

I have trouble getting sheets to fit one of my memory foam mattresses as it is so fat even the extra sized ones just ping off and don't fit, however I can put 5ft sheets on a 4ft 6in bed and they tuck in ok.

Forgive me, by the way, as I should have said 20's. Definitely not yet 29. :)

    Nope, I'm 33.

One of my best buys ever was unfitted flat sheets - from the White Company. they are spectacularly gorgeous.

What's amazing is that it's owned by the County Council .... you'd think they'd have done it up for resale; I'm sure it's been for sale for ages and just reappeared.

I doubt councils employ the likes of Beeney to improve properties and dress them for sale. They probably haven't got a budget in the correct department to do it up, or if they have the sale price would be siphoned off to a different department and they won't see any of it.

Maybe an elderly tenant moved on and it needs too much maintenance to be let out in its current state?

Could be a bargain for you PN, we'd all advise from afar on your rennovations.
