Presumably something to do with David Bentley who played for Tottenham, the fact that there are no continental players at all who play for Arsenal or possibly Denis Bergkamp who famously refused to Fly anywhere...or could it be something else?It also says it's a BENTLEY CONTINENTAL FLYING SPUR
Are you sure it's the Arsenal ground you were near?I think....0 -
Do any of you nice peeps know anything about showers? I'm going to get one fitted over the bath in my en-suite. The problem is choosing one - in bathroom places they seem to expect you to choose a shower based on what it looks like, but how can you know if it's what you want unless you can see it in action and feel what the flow from it is like?
I was round at a friend's house recently who'd had a new bathroom done. She said they were really pleased with the shower and took me to the bathroom to see it. (Because I'd said I would be needing to choose a shower soon, obviously, not just because she was obsessed with it.) It seemed good to me - we turned it on and I stuck my arm into it, and it felt right, if that makes sense. It was an aqualiser visage digital.
However, I'm quite attracted by the idea of trying to cut down water bills but getting one that aerates the water flow to use less water. The mixer tap in the basin in the downstairs loo in my new house seems to be an aerating one, and I rather like the feel of that when I wash my hands, so I think maybe I might get on OK with a shower that did the same sort of thing. However, from everything I've read, aerating showers can be dire if you don't get a good one or the flow rate is wrong or something.
So I'm prepared to pay for a really nice shower - not in terms of looks but in terms of the experience of standing in it. I want thermostatic controls, and something that will work nicely from my hot water system - which is an unvented (ie pressurised) system with a hot water cylinder.
Has anyone got any suggestions of showers I could consider, or things I should bear in mind when I'm trying to choose? Thanks.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
We added a shower over the bath to our bathroom when we moved it - it was gravity fed so we got a booster pump and it is on an exterior wall so we got a thermostatic bath/shower mixer tap to replace the standard one - the one we have gets stiffer and stiffer to change the temperature as you use it until it breaks - we got it replaced after six months and the replacement 7 months on is about to suffer the same problem. I am not sure whether the problem is the brand, the pressure or the fact that using it for the bath means we run high volume very hot through it sometimes but might be worth asking your plumber if he has any experience of this with high pressure supply and thermostatic mixers.
I must say I fancy a shower with a large drench head and a separate handset on a hose, probably with a valve so you can have flow from either or both.I think....0 -
I've only once bought a shower. Got a Miras, it worked.
I know nothing about them0 -
Thanks michaels. Would you mind telling me what kind of shower yours is? On the thread or by PM - either is fine.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? We had rain overnight! Woken up to clear blue skies though....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Our thermostatic mixer and shower is a Grohe G3000
But I have no idea if it will work with your boiler0 -
We've got a basic 9.5kw Triton shower. Just connects to the cold water feed - works really well as we have good pressure. Constant temperature plus we've set it to cut out after 10mins - I've yet to reach this limit!0

6 months sounds suspect. Something not right.
We have a super shower connected to the combi boiler, but no marking on it, so I couldn't tell you what it is. Slight noise from above when you turn it on so I guess its powered in some way, but there are no electric controls anywhere to see.
Other bathroom has a really noisy power shower, thats attached to the main (non-combi) boiler. Don't know if that makes a difference, other than to say you can get decent showers from any boiler!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
