Peeing with rain here just now, but it will take much more to get things back on an even keel. Arable farmers need some serious H2O in the next few weeks.
Lir, we've had to pull out of the Plant Sale at the weekend. Blooming annoying as we could do with the £££, but DW got the flu, and now, after days of 'just a bad cold,' I seem to have it.
Just caught this while ''daydreaming''. Please take care of each other well and thoroughly. You have done great things the pair of you...you've probably run low on reserves.
I will be seeing you one day, I know it.0 -
I have no idea who to to vote four. Even the local paper only gives the names of two people standing. I got the Labour leaflet and it was just ranting, nothing constructive, just old people ranting. I know it gets political once they start fighting over who sits on the front row in the Council House (they had to call the police once) but on a very local level, is it right to vote for someone with similar ideas about local issues?
Not that I know what they are. I saw an independent one briefly but think H has recycled it. Considering the internet exists, it's all a bit backwards. Local paper website says nothing, can't find anything from the individuals involved either.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Three things:
1] "They" are predicting [a] a super-hot weekend because of some plume of hot African air that's going to shoot up from Spain's direction. potential for a drought like the hot summer of 1976. It's been cold/windy/wet here for the past 3 days.
2] I'm not voting, I don't even know if I have a card as the card will have been kept by my dad, who is in 'complete control' of everything that comes into the house "It's my house, so everything in it is mine" - and he's not said I have a card and I've not asked. As I understand it, there's no voting in my region, just that YES/NO thing - and I have no idea - and really just think whoever gets in will just continue to tax me on more stuff and never give back, so it doesn't matter who gets in.
3] Phone 'tip' from michaels ... WHOOSH. I really don't understand phones at all.0 -
you don't need the card to vote, you just need to turn up at your local polling station with some form of ID i think, or maybe even just tell them your name and address. although if you haven't registered to vote at your house, you won't be registered to vote.0

PN, you should definitely vote if you can. It's going to be a low turnout, so your vote will count more than usually. You just show up at the polling station and give them your name and address. That's if you are going to vote Yes to AV. If you are thinking of voting No, you're probably best not to bother. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

People who don't vote ain't got no right to complain 'bout nuffink!;)
I was under the impression that a fair bit of rain is forecast this weekend? It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I reserve my right to complain. I am a voter and am thouroughly piddled off that the electoral regster people didn't sort it out in time for us to vote. (we asked for the form in Jan, then in Feb, then in arch...when we got it, sent it back and ....they have no record of it:mad:)
No one wants to come and dig holes for me, builders think its too little a job, and odd job en think its too big a job.
DH is going to start the this weekend.
