Hope Daisy is ok....and my thoughts to Inspector M and family.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I have to water everything in the garden.

AGAIN. I don't normally water anything until they look like they are about to drop dead but the bedding plants planted out on saturday have all flopped over and the peas are looking sorry for themselves and the courgettes that have survived the cold also need some water.

But i'm too tired from coming home from work to do it :(

I'm having to water stuff every day too. The worst part isn't the tiredness factor (I actually enjoy it - but I have a small garden:o) my issue is that the nozzle from my watering can has gone walkies. Which has left me having to use a small ornamental watering can, as it is the only thing with a nozzle I have.

I simply haven't had time to go & buy a new watering can yet.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that carrotfly don't like the smell of onions - the strength of the smell puts them off. Can't remember where I'm afraid.:o So I've sown alternate rows of carrots/onions.

I'll let you know how successful it is, if anything grows...

What I've found is that if you mix stuff up then it confuses the hell out of the bugs. It seems to work for me anyway. AFAICS it doesn't really matter what you plant together as long as you mix it up.

Now keeping possums off the lettuce, that's a toughie.

just in case there is no other report of this here going through my emails that Daisy has ''taken a turn for the worse'' and is having/by now has probably had emergency treatment.

Thanks for posting this LIR. Lets us all together wish the Inspector and Daisy well. I'd noticed he wasn't around...
    Exactly.

Even if all we can do is wish well and let Inspector Monkfish get some small comfort from knowing people do wish her...his whole faily well...its better than nothing. If he can smile knowing some people who have never met them care its a smile he can carry back to her.

Great post!:T Hoping the moral support gives the whole Monkfish family a little bit of a lift from the Nice People.:)

Re seeds and gardens ...I've had a really bad year for seeds. Its normally something I'm really good at, but this year its been sketchy. ATM I only have ONE south facing window sill, which makes it harder....the others are used, but its really not been great. The house is cool, whch doesn't help, but even in the heated propogator stuff has been lacklustre.

My garden is gasping for water, and I only watered it on Sunday. Its incredible just amazing. Just back from a dog walk across the fields and the seed heads ar more reminiscent of four weeks time...late may even early June. I always think nowadays of May being a hot year....funnily enough my last heathy time was in a may, a really hot may, and its part of what confused and delayed diagnosis, as people were fainting in tubes etc in what , 2003? so my first collapsing was seen as ''too hot'' and the sudden weight increase was put down to resorting to a diet of icecream.....and everyone was living of frappucini it seemed in London that summer.

On the plus side some of my garden looks really good. even though its immature it looks happy....the white border I'm really pleased with.

Now I ned to try and think longer term about shrubs not just getting some short term flower/ground cover!

edit: in fact with the watering, I'm going to buy a spinkler tomorrow. Its just to dry to not have plans. I'm less worried about the flowers than the young trees, the veg etc. But certainly, I'd prefer my perrenials didn't die....although if the annuals do then they do.

so really recomends and Android still. I might do it. I have to either buy a new sat nav wire or cheaper sat nav, and there is a sat nav app on these phnes isn't there? What minimum contract per month makes it worth while I wonder?

I have spent last few years panicking if I accidentally make my phone start to search for internet, so bit odd to get a phone whose purpose IS internet!

Peeing with rain here just now, but it will take much more to get things back on an even keel. Arable farmers need some serious H2O in the next few weeks.

Lir, we've had to pull out of the Plant Sale at the weekend. Blooming annoying as we could do with the £££, but DW got the flu, and now, after days of 'just a bad cold,' I seem to have it. :(

Hot UK Deals is going crazy over the Orange San Fransisco phone all over again as orange have cut the price to £70. This phone can be unlocked to all networks for free so you can then chose a sim only contract that suits you and is much cheaper than one with a phone and only lasts 1 month or 12 months depending what you go for.
    I think....

does anyone know what time the polls close tonight? i lurched out of the house on autopilot and went to the closest train station on the way to work, thus missing the polling station which is en route to the other station nearby. normally vote on the way in, as i don't get home from work until after 9pm most nights. is it 10pm they shut?

michaels, ok....this is an android is it? (iPhone is easy, its obvious it is what it is!) I have a contract but need to reevaluate (currently two phones on one contract for DH and I through the week, our calls are free outside the minutes..) but now it might make sense to get through the business as would only get an emailing phone prompted by need to be contactable while out about things going on here....email is usually best for that we have found.

Is this phone easy to use?

Also, you now how adult ed does ''ho to use computers'' courses? I wonder if there will be a clever -phone course soon!:rotfl::o
