I'm wondering if he will write the religious indulgence hub page I suggested;)“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Well, ex has turned up to take the boys out to the cinema......32 minutes late which means they will be pushing it to be on time to see the film!
It's hardly rocket science is it? Be on time to see the children you haven't seen since the beginning of March and thus, be on time to arrive at the cinema to see the film they want to see. It's a palty 3 hours out of his long weekend stay...not much to ask really.
Suppose it cuts out the awkward questions though as they won't have time to ask them!
Hope you enjoyed your free time.

I know what you mean, but it is important to go out there and keep contact when you live in the country. There are so many people living close by to us here who have no relationship with the village at all.:(
Last week I was feeling guilty about 'not being seen,' so I took DW to the pub for a meal. It isn't a gastropub and I can cook better stuff at home, but I was getting embarrassed by being conspicuously absent. (DW gets there more often by being in their highly unsuccessful ladies' skittles team.)
Our village is tiny, yet there are two pubs. Without serious local commitment that just couldn't happen. "Use it or lose it."0 -
We appeared to be missing out on all the snow everywhere else seemed to have....until around 4.30 when it started snowing very lightly.
Well, the light snow didn't last very long, we now have about 6 inches laying on the road outside, it was great fun driving home from my parents with the conditions at the very limit for driving especially up the hills - had to do a back double to try to avoid the main part of the hills and even that was decidely dodgy.
All told, it took us 30 minutes to go approx 4 miles.
And still snowing really heavily outside.
My day today? I did some oddjobs around the house and then went to my parents, ended up driving them into town and going shopping with them. The kids seemed to enjoy themselves but ex didn't give them any lunch and youngest couldn't eat the party food as others were touching the food after eating (he is very eek about that), so he was starving by the time I picked them up.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Pastures is an expert. I am a wannabe.
But, I guess I do some of the right things "by habit", which helps.0 -
Well, no snow here at all, so took the car out across county for a spot of wandering around a market perchance to spot something I couldn't live without. Roads were fine/clear, there was evidence in the south that snow had visited, but everything was fine and passable. But the roads were absolutely empty, I didn't go out until lunchtime either. And the car park at the market was more empty than I have ever ever seen it ever. And the market was pretty empty. So I popped into Tesco, pretty empty.
I guess everybody was sitting at home justifying not going out because the man on the telly said it's rough out there, but it wasn't.
Either that, or 90% of the county is now 2nd homes and none could get here0 -
Lovely crisp ( -3C) moonlit night down here in Estuary land Sue.
The west bound A13 carriageway was closed for about 6 hours - nothing much wrong with the road surface just brain dead driving I think.
I wandered down to the road to take a butchers - I had not realised that a modern two lane dual carriageway has enough width for three lorries, so the "Old Bill" were able to turn round the cars and vans.
[When you get sent Eastbound on the southern carriageway, how much intelligence does it take to realise that you are meant to go up the access slip road at the first junction you come to - not drive all the way back to Southend on the wrong side of the road.:rotfl:]
Apparently there were 8 accidents in just 2 sections of bypass - I have this nasty feeling: When a road is kept shut for that long it is usually a sign that a report is being created for the coroner :eek:0 -

Hmph, on the other hand my brother took 5 hours to do a journey you can normally do in 1 yesterday.
It is pretty dang awful around where I am, although it hasn't snowed nearly as much as a few weeks ago, there was no grit on the roads and so chaos.PasturesNew wrote: »without any thought, investigation, research or any of the other things one's supposed to do

To be honest, I have always wondered if keyword research using the keyword tools was really worthwhile, it always seemed to me that a heck of a lot of people plough the same furrow...“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Still snowing out there and I can't see the top of the wall in the front garden now (not a huge wall but still means a decent depth of snow).
We have almost got to the stage of being cut off as the A14 is closed in parts close to here...there is some back doubles ways but if the A14 is bad, they would be even worse as they are real countryside lanes, getting to my parents would be an impossibility..not sure I could even get out of the village let alone down the hills.
Kids are loving watching the snow come down and are itching to get out and play in it. fingers crossed the rain doesn't come and wash it all away before the morning...and I am so glad there are no school runs to worry about! We made it!
