So, one person could have 1000 visitors to what they wrote and have 1 click earning them 1p. Another person might have a high paying subject and get 10 visitors and 2 clicked at £2/click. So, it's either hit and miss, or lots of research/work. I do the hit/miss approach.
I write about stuff I like and find interesting. The third approach (-:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I did something naughty this afternoon, involving pretending to be in a car I wasn't really in, and getting it towed.....:o:o:o
But it was a matter of life and death. There were tropical fish on board! :rotfl:
I'm already being punished. The microwave has just packed-up and I've broken a perfectly good swing bin. Such is the burden of guilt.
Never mind. The fish Live!:)0 -
Worked out who you are now, I see our paths have crossed before on hubs....
If that's your picture you're very pretty. I guess it must be you.
My score's dropped from 100 as I've not done anything for a few months, so you're beating me there
I'll step out of stalker mode now0 -
I couldn't help myself... had a quick look and one caught my eye. You've written something that mentions one of my ancestors. Your title: TKT TLHT
Seriously out of stalker mode now. It's just plain wrong and rude.0 -

Can't be me, I'm not pretty, just average. Yeah. Hugh .... ancestor of mine allegedly, from extensive research by my aunt.
My aunt used to spend all of her time researching the family - well over 30 years solidly. She's got it all documented and entered it all into some software for ancestry... and she'd send me the file, except I can't read it as I don't have the software.... no idea what the software is, but I know I don't have it. So I can't state the direct line back to him right now. I'd have to ask her and wait for a reply... so it's not worth bothering is it0 -

Sue, I empathise with the getting up and about after lolling. I have been known to crawl to a wall/inside. Thankfully my knees stand that! I find getting down easier often than lifting my legs up, when they/back is dodgy. And hard chairs are wickedly painful for my back. (makes restaurant dining a bit of a bore as part of my mind thinks about the back) One of my dance teachers when I was a kid used to say to her class weekly that even if we gave up dancing we must make sure we sat on the floor every day...to maintain the ability too. Up to a point its worked for me....but I know there will be a time when it doesn't. Until then....the floor rules for me!
I still sit on the floor when I can, just that getting up can be a bit of a pain and the after effects from doing so are not so nice....but I still persist with it.
Not sure I could crawl to my back door from where I would be sitting on the grass....the garden is 130ft long! But agree about hard chairs in restaurants, absolute nightmare. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Almost certainly a gedcom, you can read them by lots of free programmes.
Hugh de Payens? Unlikely to be any sort of provable ancestry, I'd have thought. Most of his life is legend, rather than history. He did father a son who became an abbot, but an abbot's not supposed to have children!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I have decided to try to encourage my kids not to spend all their money as soon as they get it. I have opened a "bank of Mummy" that will pay them interest if they save money in it. Accounts are only available to my own kids (so don't any of you start trying to apply) and I am offering a sky high AER. They get 1p interest for every whole pound that's in the bank for a whole week, Sunday to Sunday.
DS has put all his money in. DD wanted to keep some in her money box, so has decided to put in the whole pounds and keep the small change. The funniest moment was when I was explaining that she might as well keep the 68p because she'd only earn interest on the whole pounds, and her little face fell because she thought that only actual pound coins would earn interest and not, for example, a pound paid in as two 50p pieces or a collection of smaller coins. She cheered up when I explained it was the total that mattered, not which coins comprised it.
We are moving towards a cashless economy in this house. DD still wanted to be paid her pocket money in coins - actually she wanted her bank interest in coins too - before paying it all back into the bank. DS, however, is more than happy for the entire pocket money deal to be done by me electronically because it means he doesn't need to take time away from his Lego Clone Wars turbotank. I am just happy I can deal with the pocket money without necessarily having to have the right change.
As a strategy, it seems to be working, I think. DD bought some stuff during the week, asking me to pay for her and promising to pay me back out of her account when we got home. She has now had to see the withdrawals typed into the spreadsheet and realise that her balance is now less than it would have been, and so is her interest. She says she now regrets buying the stuff and doesn't want to waste money like that again. I expect she will change her mind next time she sees something she fancies in a shop, but the indication is that she's capable of learning to think that way, and with enough repetitions she might eventually get it.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0
