Yes it is a specialised sports site...I was originally a reluctant site owner. Good Friday we managed nearly 200,000 page views but all the time we were biting our nails hoping the site would hold.

Thankfully it did as we now have a good working relationship with Proboards (even have the personal phone number of the big boss and owner!)

Whether the money is good depends on whether you could be doing anything better with the time - I match bet for between 50 nd 100 pm for probably 5-10 hours 'work' but it is tax free and they are late evening hours when I couldn't be doing anything else.

Sue have you monetized your site properly? I don't mean in the rip off enthusiasts sort of way but just in hosting a few adds on each page unobtrusive way - I know very little about it but there are nice people who do.

No I haven't....being a Proboards forum site, it is not as easy as with a normal site.

So it earns me no income but gives me plenty of stress! But then it also keeps my management skills up to date, keeps my working to a tight time frame honed and gives me the thrill I used to enjoy from working (although when it started, I was working and doing this site too)

Beautiful day here, although I have to say, a day of heavy rain would be much welcome now.

We had a three tier cake baked by the local bakery and designed by me...about the only thing I have ever designed which actually looked good (well apart from the wedding cake I did for my brother in December)

I don't generally have a good eye but I seem to do ok for cakes :rotfl:

Although that's high traffic, it'd most likely generate less than benefits, so would complicate Sue's claims because she'd have to declare herself as self-employed, then you don't know what figures to put on the paperwork any more because you don't know today what you'll earn today/this week ... and you only find out at the end of the tax year once you've done your return.

It'd just be a hassle and complication .... not to mention all the users whining when ads start appearing. People on forums fight and argue when there's change.

I hadn't actually thought of that PN (re any earnings) but you are so right about changes and forums, we have tried to change things over the years and the response is usually "Arrggghhhh, give us back our old style!"

A bit wet here too, but then, I'm just down the road.

At least when it's slashing down, I can look out now and say something agricultural, like "Arr, moi 'aylage'll be growin' bedder!"

We are both unwell, so the natural watering is saving us from going out there.:) I feel like poo, and DW's worse.:(

An old friend who's over 90 just rang. "Have you made 70 yet?" he asked. I told him I hadn't, but I wasn't enjoying the prequel today. :rotfl:
