Afraid my birthday's not until August. I was at Oxford 1987-1990 (undergraduate) and then until 1999 (DPhil and then living there and working). What college was your sister at and what subject did she read?
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

The age conversation has had me giggling! I've picked up some ages from reading over time. I knew that SS and PN have had big birthdays quite recently and that LIR is sort of but not quite the same age as me. I know they've all given it away now though! I think silvercar is about the same age as PN because she's sensible like a proper grown up :D

I'm surprised people think I'm that young! I thought people would think I was older. Wheezy got me bang on, which I thought was from a reference I'd made in relation to how old LIR had suggested she was except you got her very wrong Wheezy!

We're having our party tomorrow but I shall have the TV on and I am recording it. I am so excited to see - I was tiny when Charles and Diana wed and I thought it was a party for my grandma's birthday. The Dean of Westminster, the Very Rev'd John Hall who is conducting the service, was the only man in my life from a very young age until well into my teens, our Parish Priest, and I hold a very great fondness for him still. Even when I was small, I clearly remember people saying that he was headed for big things in the CoE. So I'm looking forward to tomorrow, for romance, dresses, reminiscing. I just love weddings, it reminds me of our day and I love hearing the vows again and the fact that each time you witness it should be a renewal of your own vows. And I'm glad the UK is on the map again for a little while.

    :)

Meh .... having never been asked/married, and unlikely to be .... all weddings and couples etc are kind of never-ending reminders of how unloved one is :)

    But I love Wheezy

48 btw, but of course in keeping with my sister covenettes, I remain stunningly gorgeous and really look years younger. I love being a pixel.

Not sure if that is a compliment or an insult!

...and not sure how old PN is.

I often judge how old people are by the age of their kids, which can be very misleading.

To me Royals are no different and certainly no better than any of us - no offence but I would not queue to watch any of you get married nor bother to watch it on TV. I do not get it and all this fawning actually makes me embarrassed to be British.

    I think....

Viva: I just know you are gorgeous. In every thing you write you are balanced and intelligent and considerate...to the lengths I believe it must show somewhere on the outside. :) edit: come to think of it, I feel exactly the same about Lydia.
