So, what happened to me today?

    1. Heard that wife's aunt's funeral is scheduled for 11 AM tomorrow. Cracking timing! Even so, we won't/can't make the 400 mile journey.

    2. Went to hospital for blood test. Phlebotomist has the same name as my daughter, and more importantly she was very good and I scarcely felt it.

    3. Asked Singlesue about her washing machine, and I'm cross with her answer - what's wrong with me? Why didn't she lie, at least, to spare my feelings? :)

    4. Long chat with eldest son, who has developed some exceptionally good software for a tech startup company that it now turns out have no money to pay him. He retains the copyright (so they can't use the software), but they suggest that their non disclosure agreement applies (so he can't sell the software to their competitors). This one will run and run. I think they are trading whilst insolvent, which is very naughty of them.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Sorry to hear of her loss. Sometimes an advantage of short notice funeral's is that the "should we go/ could we go" decision is made for you, rather than spend days deliberating the matter.

If they are insolvent they presumably have no money to tackle him for breaching non-disclosure. In fact reporting them for trading whilst insolvent could remove the threat entirely.

    Message to posters and lurkers.

We have a long journey tomorrow by car, normally we would avoid Friday motorway traffic but we have no alternative.

Essential that you all stay home glued to the telly watching the royal wedding. Even the non-royalists amongst you need to see the dress, the procession, the crowds, the balcony kiss..who is there, who is not there., the weather, the crowds.......

    Thank you.

I want to see the dress too (but I think that's all I'm bothered about....dress, flowers....we won't get to see cake will we?). I'm hoping I'm able to get to a tv.

I have no telly ... and the olds will have their own choices on theirs, which are always too loud and dire.

    No wedding for me.

    :)

It's either all day long in the local pub for you then, or (as you've got proper broadband) watch it streaming online.

That domino should fall eventually if that's the case. He could always take them to court for payment. Dangerous game to play wrongful trading (if you are correct) as the directors then face liability themselves rather than via company aiui.

ETA: you can put a track on a company via Companies House. It can take up to two weeks to tell if a company has entered administration, but it will appear on the website or in the London Gazette if you want to keep an eye to that. Don't know how much I'm telling you what you already know.

ETA again: this is an interesting piece of the conditions of wrongful trading. Quite exacting as to what the conditions are:
    http://www.hpinsolvency.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/2011-02-03-DAP-IP-Fact-Sheet_docx.pdf

AND FINALLY ETA: Have a read of that and then have a look at the Companies House entry too. If they are also late filing or breaching other points then this should also be clear. If you have a look at all their docs you can often also get a feel for what's going on in their Company filing history. I think that should be all my ETA's for now.
