You don't have a fridge magnet or a roll of sellotape, do you?
With the sellotape, cut off say 3". Make that into a band, with the sticky side on the outside. Stick that to the steak knife, so you end up with a sticky steak knife. Poke that through the hole where the hinge has disappeared and try to stick it to the hinge. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
. However I have brought in a massive amount of new customers for this lot who will still have ongoing benefits . Hopefully I might get a specialist solicitor to do a no win/ no fee.
.
Check your household insurance. Quite a lot of policies do cover this type of employment dispute....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Thanks Generali.....moving the machine itself is not so bad, me and eldest had to move it a few months ago when the external pipe became blocked and water was peeing out everywhere, so that bit sounds easy enough.
Think I may need to raid the tool box locked in my brother's shed (my garden, his shed) for the tools as my tools consist of a knife...a knife...and er a knife. I find the steak knife particularly useful although that is helped by the fact the tip of it came off at some repair or another in the past. A butter knife is also helpful, but you need bigger screws for it to work well......
And when things are being particularly stubborn, I kick them or hit them with something hard...that tends to work although they also tend to end up broken.
Still a daunting list though....eeekk!
It's a long list but break it down step by step and it's pretty simple. If you look at the whole thing you can never do it, if you look at it line-by-line then it's just a series of little tasks.
If you can, get yourself a cheap toolkit. It makes life much easier and saves a packet. Mrs Generali got one for about $15 when we moved into The Shotgun Shack in Aus.0 -
Sadly, people that do this seem to be so convinced that the new partner is the most wonderful person in the universe, and the new relationship the most wonderful thing that has ever happened, that they are entirely blind to the idea that not everyone agrees, or that people may be hurt (ie even more hurt than they already are) if they go on about it.
They have to be convinced, - otherwise, they'd have to think that they were in reality a bit of a !!!!!! who had an affair and left their families. Better for it to be a "love story" than a "married man screwed around" story....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Well, we have 5 pots with say 4-6 seedlings in each. The patch is big enough for say 2 full size plants, and I could probably find another couple of spots for another one or two. (Not bad for a 29p packet of seeds from Lidl. The packet of sweet peas has not germinated, though.)
For anyone worried about meeting strange people off the internet, I could arrange to abandon a pot of seedlings somewhere. Then you could wait until the coast is clear and then swoop in and grab them.
well, all my shorties have germinated otherwise I'd be sending DH to get a pot from you.
If however you post your random pot drop suggestion on the sunflower thread in Greenfingered you may well get a taker.
Right, those sheep are off today...I pointed out that I would not be able to do them the whole time (that was NOT the arrangement). I also expressed, concern about things and suggested I was not happy to have such situation here while those things continued...after all, its our place, our reputation. I like the boy. Apart from blubbing when his mother turned up because he had to talk to a grown up for an hour who didn't think he was the most amazing thing on earth he had interesting things to say and a take on his desired future career. Its such a shame his parents are making a fool of pandering to him and not realising the responsibility that goes with being a young ''farmer''. I think its a shame that so much effort is put into making things look as if they are impressive and done well instead of just DOING things well. I'm out of kilter with that today i accept. I'm also pretty impressed he sells eggs for £2 a half dozen. I wonder if my cheaper eggs will go as well when I put them out?0 -
haven't started sunflowers yet
or nasturtiums. Just have pot marigolds, cosmos, petunias, a few hollyhock and half a dozen poached eggs.
Off to London today and back to more topsoil. The thing about the weather being nice is that MSE is easier to handle.0 -
Had a good morning so far. watered the garden, poo-picked the fields (catching a sheep and returning it to its patch at the same time, lol). Cleaned both poutry houses, put nitromores type stuff on a window, started a dozen geranium cuttings for a friend who gave me some lovely lemon scented cuttings and hopeful today is going to be productive!0

Yeah, but you'll probably not crash mid day.;) This time of year I like to get up at about 5:30 and work outside while its cool. winter I try and be finished by nine with the morning rounds. Summer, its nice if things are earlier really. Also, the window we're starting with is west facing, so I want to get it done this morning before the full heat of the sun hits it.
Plus....we need to try and get winterproof, so ...you don't have that worry
We usually would have done something like weeding last night, but instead we got a video.
That's also the second coat of nitromore type stuff on that window.
We're only doing one at a time, which isn't brilliantly time efficient but better that than stripping loads and finding we can't get to them all, I think? Also, we've started with one that doesn't need any repairs/re puttying to get practise on an easier one. They'll get harder as we progress!0 -
You really have lived in the Caribbean / somewhere else hot. You ad my DW would really understand each other whereas for me if there is a day when I don't have to get up then I will take full advantage - although that is pretty limited with young kids - can't wait till they are teenagers and understand that sleeping late is one of life's little pleasures.lostinrates wrote: »Yeah, but you'll probably not crash mid day.;) This time of year I like to get up at about 5:30 and work outside while its cool. winter I try and be finished by nine with the morning rounds.
