And you think silver car owners are sad?!
https://sites.google.com/site/fiatmultipla/eventsOn the subject of cars, I was on a forum dedicated to my car (sad I know, but I was getting frustrated with delayed delivery times and wanted info and support). So now there are a few of them around and they are organising a meet. I can't think of anything more boring.
"Nice car"
"I chose that one as well"
"how many white ones can you see"
"oh you went for folding wing mirrors how exciting"
What is the point, apart from amusing everyone else in the locality to see a fleet of them.I think....0 -
still it is fun confusing the Audi's at the traffic lights...
Oooohhh I've got one of those, but I'm easily confused anyway...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Having been dragged there on numerous weekends as a teenager, I previously couldn't think of anything worse than a visit to Billing Aquadrome. But Billing Aquadrome AND Multiplas:eek:.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I have friends who swear by Centre Parcs in Europe which is apparently much cheaper than the one's in this country - I was thinking perhaps there is one in France that you could combine with a bit of Euro-Disney and Paris shopping?I need help
Up to now holidays have been really easy. It was the only the brat and I.
Every january (since she was nine) I gave her my credit card and a budget and left it to her. We ended up in some interesting places but hey she was happy........
This year I handed her the card, outlined the budget and she laughed and handed it back. She said miracles are my job.
Sooooooooo, I need a happy holiday anywhere (this country included) that caters for two small girls, one teenager and my mother(who on account of the viagra fiasco is now on her own).
Somewhere Disneyish would be good because the girls and the brat are hugely into the whole princess thing. Except it would kill my mother and the states is too far. I honestly couldn't stand the flight with them all, I'd have a nervous breakdown.
So I need somewhere sedate enough for the auld dear and exciting enough for the girls.
They all adore shopping and dressing up
None of them give a toss about culture but I keep hoping
Think My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding goes on holiday. One of my aunts may be coming too so her and the auld dear could amuse each other through the day. Fingers crossed.
I need a really good hotel because they will all kick off if it isnt. Including the four year old.
The upside is we only need a week if it is broad because the dog has issues with kennels.
Budget, if you could do it for 3k I would be your friend forever.
My Ma and the mad aunt will pay their own.
Miracles on a postcard pleaseI think....0 -

Disneyland Paris via the Eurostar train?
You could stay in one of the cheaper Disney hotels, one of them has rooms for upto 6 people.
The old dear(s) could take the metro into Paris rather than spend time in the theme parks.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. DONT BLIDDY CRY
You are expecting far too much of yourself
Firstly, is that the same child that broke the bliddy door in the first place?
Strong words are needed here Sue, conversations starting with if you as much as breathe without asking first........
Try screaming, sit on your backside and touch nothing.
This is less about disability and more about you being in charge of your own house/
You need a handyman. A neighbour? A cousin?
Men will spend days trying to find ways round unsolvable DIY problems. It is like a point of honour.
Do you know someone handy?
EDIT When I left the evil husband and lived in the fat landlords house the door fell off the ancient washing machine. The fat landlord sent round a dreadful little man who bolted it back on with dreadful looking screws and two pieces of metal. It wasn't pretty but it worked
I know, I know.....
I did the screaming part and youngest is fully aware I am less than impressed, think he has got bored with me keep saying "5 seconds, bliddy 5 seconds was all you had to wait and we would now have a functioning washing machine and have a load ready to go in the tumble dryer"
It's been a mantra all night....mind you, it does have its bonus as he is still making me cups of tea and has offered to give me the money he has saved up for an Ipod to pay for the door (he has saved £17 so far).
Unfortunately, the only handy person I know was also the person I was married to....my brother is hopeless, my cousins don't live any closer than London and I can count the amount of friends I have here on one hand....and none of them are handy.
I am trying to think of ways around it...much the same as a bloke. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Disneyland Paris is an easy trip from Charles de Gaulle ws. There's a direct bus that will take you all. If you stay at the Disneyland Hotel (the best one there) then you get to overlook the park. There's a long thread on the overseas travel board all about the do's and don'ts of getting there and the people giving advice are very friendly. You can put the girls in Fantasyland all day (little ones are quite happy there without even going to other parts of the park) and your Mum can sit and watch them.
If that's too active, then somewhere fairytale-ish and beautiful... There's Portmerion in this country, Sintra in Portugal (mix with some bucket and spade activity), or you could go to Port Aventura in Spain and double it with a beach break in the area. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Another vote for Disneyland Paris here....and go first class on the eurostar, much better.
Our best experience was going first class for Eurostar and then staying at the Disneyland hotel, made it much easier on your feet, no having to trawl through the village to get to the park and a character breakfast every morning. Going via eurostar also means you arrive at lunchtime right near to the parks and on the day you leave, you get a whole day in the parks as the train doesn't leave until after tea time.
Of the less posh hotels, Newport Bay is a nice hotel and they have family rooms, you do however, have the trek through the village to get to the parks and at the end of a day of visiting the parks, the walk back seems to go on forever. Nice swimming pool though....
Sequoia (or however it is spelt), you have to be careful here. Go for one of their normal rooms and you get stuck in a prison block affair outside of the main hotel, so you have a trek to go for breakfast...not good if it is raining. We were also not best impressed by the swimming pool. This was the one where I complained rather madly on arrival to discover they had stuck us in the end 'prison block', the furthest away from the hotel, all compounding our anger at having paid to upgrade to a better hotel, the rest on our coach who had decided to stay with the basic choice of the Santa Fe, had been upgraded free of charge to the Newport Bay. So, I complained loudly and got an upgrade to a lake view room in the main hotel....think they were so shocked at a British person complaining, they gave me what I wanted! We made it!
