I do wish I had had you as a project manager rather than most of the ones I have been 'lucky' enough to work for.
The problem is that instructions don't give us limits. Without being told the framework, we've no way to know when to stop

    ....

If you don't know when to stop, you have to cover everything in case that is what was expected.
    I think....

The disagreement about the attendance allowance is all by the by now....parents got a letter today awarding dad the lower rate (he is ok ish at night) for 2 years.

    Mum still not happy though......
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I've had a corner shower twice. They're bl00dy fabulous. Loads of room. What I liked about them was that I could just slide the door open and reach my towel to dry off, before I stepped out of the shower.

They were both identical, a full quarter circle, with two sliding doors in the middle. http://www.chinasteamshower.com/images/products/2011218170538360w300h300ugtshower/corner-shower-enclosure.jpg

They tend to be 1200mm each side (er, I think.... I am no good at understanding/visualising these new fangled measurements)... which reminds me of something in the week, which I'll create a new post for.

I think there is a lot of wasted space in those showers. They take up nearly as much (usable) floor space as a square one but inside the shower the corner bits (where the curved screen meets the wall) are wasted.

We have a walk-in shower in the top floor bathroom, and it looks fine, but it's a bit of a mistake. (Similar to this one http://www.taps4less.com/PP/LA-WALK1070R.html ) The problem is that it's draughty and cold. Our en-suite shower is just a standard cubicle with a door and it's much, much nicer to shower in. I've never tried a really big one with a door, but I suspect it might be a better bet but still not as warm.

Oh I love a walk in shower. My parents always have them. They are great for women....you can sit ont he floor and sahve your legs easily....shaving ina small cubicle is tricky. They warm up quick enough when the waters steamy.

Double ended baths are almost ALWAYs the right choice.....one can bath in them alone if there aren't two, but two can use them without a towel wrapped around the taps.

They're not wasted. You get room to move about in the shower, perhaps wash your hair with your elbows sticking out! You also get room inside the shower to towel dry yourself before you step out, meaning you can either minimise drips, or minimise the floor space you need in the shower room. I'd not have a square shower, they're so much smaller and confining.

What drives me nuts when looking for places to live is that mostly it's only a shower, no bath. And the other thing is most of the places being Night Storage Heaters (meaning economy 7 and pricey daytime tariffs). You really get the short end of all the sticks in 1-bed flats at the lower end of the market.

I need a house, with a garden and parking and a bath.... even if it's a 1-bed house, 1-bed annexe, whatever... I just can't live in a space without outside space, guaranteed off-road parking, a bath and proper heating. I also don't "do" stairs, communally. I like to know my door's my door and I can wedge it open to bring things in; communal doors (flats) get banged shut at all hours of day/night. I like peace and quiet, not herds of elephants tramping past at 3am.

I agree with this. I can get quite claustrophobic in the actually.

I think the bath always looks best on the short wall, so I think thats a good move.

May parents have now had two showers where the double walk in shower is on the window wall...so the window is in the shower. Its fab. You might need different to normal glass though, if you have overlooking neighbours. :)

I'm also going stir crazy. My idea of absolute luxury would be to sit on a sofa and watch telly uninterrupted for a whole programme. To have a bath and sit in my dressing gown on a sofa watching telly.... bliss. I should book into a cheap hotel for a few days maybe. I really miss Homes under the Hammer.

I've never seen a walk in shower "in real life". They don't really appeal too much.

They are easier to clean...fewer ''bits''. I like 'em. :)
