Oh, and I'm going to go and look at that table again today. If its still there and I still love it it may come home with me. I like to think on things.

But think of the boiler.....!

Nothing wrong with beta-blockers, Sue. They helped me once when probably nothing else would have done the same job. They weren't a forever thing and, apart from the reduction of the problem I was taking them for, I'd never have known.:)

Er, beta-blockers aren't the nicest drugs in the world for a lot of people, they can have some fairly nasty side effects so should be closely monitored by doctors, but if you have to have them you have to have them.

Haven't had time til now, but a lovely sunny morning here.:)

Walking to work this morning, I was serenaded with birdsong.

    Shouldn't they have all migrated?
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Squirrels are running around like mad things preparing to mate, birds are singing, there are daffodils starting to peak out of the grass, and snowdrops and crocuses are flowering...

this can only mean one thing...

Snow is on the way. So we have bought in a new supply of winter fuel, just in case (the oil has gone up for the fifth year running).

Yes, some people can't take them at all, and all side effects should be taken seriously, but what I'm saying is that I found their use entirely undetectable in everyday life, and I don't think I'm unusual.

As it happens, other drugs have come along to do the job I used them for, somewhat better. This is what happens; one treatment replaces another in the fullness of time.

I know, I know. :o I think its my swansong spend. In fact, I think I'm happy it came home with us. In the end I took my mother....who can haggle well...i.e. wear people down. I got the table and a couple of extra bibbity bobs for under a hundred.....the table was priced at £150.
I spent some of the change from the £150 on a coffee for my mother.
edit: table looked bigger in the shop but that's better, it might fit better than I thought.

edit: besides....I need something to be heart warmed about as I sit in the tepid immersion heated bath water....that's what I'll miss....HOT baths. But they aren't that good for one, so even there there is a silverlining in the demise. :)

All gone quiet. BFGW? Nothing very new this week, apart from the nail varnished toes on the baby.

Have gone off it tbh. Still not happy that it doesn't do enough to show the differences between Romanies and Irish travellers. All I hear is people laughing about big pink dresses and I think they're missing the point. I also don't see how you can top fibre optic butterflies and a fire extinguisher.

I am in a really bad mood tonight. I've been trying to change my mobile phone contract with Vodafone. I called them, six times I got a message saying they weren't taking any calls and to e-mail them (yes, seriously, from a phone company). Then phoned their upgrade line which refused to put me through to anyone, including a supervisor because they say I'm still under contract so won't discuss upgrades (I'm not). Then when I went on their website to cancel both my phones because I've had enough and get a PAC code for my mobile, the website wouldn't put my message through - twice :mad::mad::mad:. So I posted on the utilities board and the only reply I've received said Vodafone gets ten times as many complaints as everyone else. I've got to the point where I wanted to be at home relaxing tonight but instead I'm a wound up mess.

I've been looking at rental places, only to realise I can't actually easily rent anywhere. My income is dire, so won't meet affordability these smug agents insist on; I have no job; I have no accountant, so can't produce magical self-employed accounts signed off; I have no guarantor.

I do keep looking, but I'm d4mned if I'm going to pay £200 to some greasy agent to be turned down .... and the private lets are either dodgy/DSS hell hole types, or aspirational lifestyle "ladies who lunch" letting out their bijou gems at rates to make your eyes water.

One I could afford today was on the beach and has a pool, but it's 6 miles past the 4rse end of the furthest place I could ever think of.... and another that caught my eye is a shed/studio, but the affordabillity chart shows I'd need to be earning 50% more to even be considered.

I'd not take on something I couldn't afford .... but my situation isn't "the norm", as with everything I ever try to do.

Have you seen this, John Carew the footballer had a tatoo on his neck that was meant to say 'My life my rules' in French, but apparently it says 'My life my menstrual period' oh my.
