I want to see everyones' house plans, do I need to PM you all individually?

It would be quite safe to link to them on this thread if you have removed personal details.

As I had my bank statements to hand - and they're an indicator of income .... I just had a quick projection of 2010-2011 and ... it's not good, it's less.

    Might be ending up with:
    09-10: £11,000
    10-11: £9,000

But I've had some fabulous days!! Obviously not as many as I needed. And I completely forgot that in June 2010 my website was down for about 2 weeks ... and Xmas fortnight was peanuts. I seem to just be able to remember the good days I've had.

Also, temping in 09-10 brought in just shy of £3k, whereas 10-11 it's £200.

Oh dear. And I was feeling so flush this year! I'm an idiot, clearly.

If you are living within your means and are happy with your work-life balance then fine.

Out of interest and when you're bored, stick your income etc into entitledto and see what benefits you could get (a) if you lived where you do and (b) if you got your own place.

I would have said early 70s. It looks solid. I couldn't work out whether the photo was off the back and I was looking at a conservatory or it was a big porch at the front of the house.

To post the plan, right click and use "save as" then save it as jpg or similar. Then you can load up to facebook and link again or open a flickr account or similar.

I remember carolt saying that carol wasn't her real name and now it appears lydia isn't a lydia. Are these the names of your favourite dolls or names you wish you had?

It's sort of the back - or side - or something. It's where the road goes round the corner. The bit in the picture is the bit overlooking the enclosed garden. Originally you got into it via a small courtyard on the other side of the house, but that has now been infilled to make an extra room between the original house and the garage, so now you get in through the conservatory, which has a narrow bit extending along the other wall of the house. OK, I'm sure you're all mystified now. I'll see if I can sort out some floor plans later this evening.

Lydia was a name we considered for dd - after the one in the New Testament, who's a strong, independent, pro-active business woman and leader. However, late-nearly-ex had known a Lydia he didn't like, so we didn't pick it for her in the end, but I didn't see why that should put me off using it as a screen name. DD also has a teddy bear called Lydia.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    I have no house....

For me, take your box room (7'x8') and shove a single bed in it against the far wall. Then take all your stuff and box it up into plastic storage boxes and vacuum bags and a few carrier bags. Put an unusable set of bedroom furniture in the room, then put your bike in there. Next, take all your boxed up stuff and place it where you can find a space. Then, when you're left with a tiny walkway from the door to the bed, about 15" wide ... that's what mine's like :)

    No benefits because
    [a] I don't live alone
    I have savings.

Thing is, I can't touch the savings else there won't be enough to buy a house one day and I expect to be unmortgageable for the rest of my life for various reasons.

OK, so I've seen LIR's floorplans. Bit blurry (maybe it's just my tiny screen) so no idea what the rooms are, but I think it's living rooms to the left, garage to the right.

Looks like it was a 2-up-2-down originally, then had a garage stuck on the side to double the width. I assumed/expected LIR's house to be huuuuuuge and rambling, a big dark stone farmhouse. BIIIIIG. Although maybe those rooms are 20' square and I couldn't tell :)

I may/may not in the past have been sent the details when it was on the market.... but I don't keep notes so have no idea if this is any one of the ones LIR sent me to view.

OK I have worked out how to put the floorplans into a post. I don't know how to make them any smaller, though. :o

The bit that's now family room was originally courtyard. The front door was from the courtyard into the space where the downstairs loo and coat cupboard are. Now the front door is the one outside the kitchen window that goes into the conservatory. You have to go round through the conservatory to get into the house.

From the garage to the front door into the conservatory is driveway. Then there are hedges and fences etc enclosing the garden to the South of the house and a bit to the East as far as the front door - so the front door is level with the hedge.

Image removed - but if you're on "nice people" often, PM me and I'll send you a link.

Sorry to be thick Lydia, but where's the front door? I'm a bit confused.

PN is talking about the plans from purchase...I haven't done the new ones yet...been earning my living :)

Its he opposite, my house...was big and got smaller.

Its big but not huge.....atm its not even particularly ''big'' though reasonably spacious and unusal space...lots more down than up ATM...rooms are not huge, but big enough for some big furniture. ATM its three bed, four reception. It will eventually, in the future be 5 receptions, -adding one, knocing two into one and adding a room to make current kitchen a recep/study- &7 bed. There is more...but not in the main building.

Right....I'm going to try and grapple with paint. Or the open office equivalent.

No, you're not thick; the house is weird. I've edited the description. Does that make it any clearer?
