:rotfl:Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

PasturesNew wrote: »The best thing about all white is: it's cheap, you don't spend time choosing it, or finding it, or guessing how many tins you need. White is always available, and always cheap; it's never discontinued. For touching up, you just need to keep the one tin - and literally walk round once a year with the tin and a brush, just touching up the bits here/there that need doing. It's genius!
When you've done as much touching up as we have, it's not even that easy! In a whole house especially, the stuff changes colour. I told H the other week not to touch up the invisible stuff and he did it anyway. Touched it all up a slightly different colour, something had happened to the brush. All had to be done again, but an even wider area.
At home my favourite room is white, but it's a posh white. I adore it. Carpet is white as well. It's the spare room strictly reserved for visitors so it doesn't get grubby with the kids or me. But I like to open the door and look at it often. I have one of these hats in there which I also adore. Touching up in our house always seems to involve repainting the entire wall my DS's hand are so grubby. Down the hallway they start on the opposite side to his room immediately in front of his door in the direction of the stairs. It was painted (again) at the end of the summer. DD has further to walk, she's not even half as bad.
The dog is worse though!
I despair. We moved on Tuesday, I am shattered yet I don't really feel like I've done much. Back 'home' looks like someone left in a hurry, this place is nearly there but we have no curtains up! Thankfully we're not overlooked at all but it's a big house and the curtains would help cosy it up some.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Was anyone just watching Hugh Fearnley-Wittingstall on C4? Have you joined https://www.fishfight.net yet? Website is very slow at the moment but this is a campaign I'll be supporting and I'm a veggie! Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Oh yes.
I've already used "If I sort it out I will throw away the stuff I think we don't need to keep without asking you whether you want it."
I'm also intending to try "We are going to move during half term. If you help with the sorting and preparation, you will be allowed to be there on moving day. If you don't, I'll know you're not able to be helpful, so I'll find a friend to look after you and you'll miss it all."
CongratulationsIt's lovely to be able to move at a bit of leisure although going back to the old place to clean it is the most tedious task.
Hopefully they'll excite up a bit when they see their new rooms and will packing with glee like mine were the other day. Great opportunity for a sort out and purge as well. It's very refreshing to be able to move into somewhere nice and just plonk your stuff down rather than start to fight the long fight immediately with someone elses grubby carpet...
Spent the last three years nearly doing our house. It's changed beyond recognition inside. Thought we were nearly there but it wasn't quite right somehow. Moved out, and sure enough, it looks like an incredibly messy family have been living there for the last three years. Nothing looks new at all!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Urgh, dog grease coat on a painted wall. I used to wash the walls at my mothers house every week. Here they only like one wall...and its much smaller.....they spend more time on their sofas and throws.
problem when you wash walls regularly is they fade!
I've just asked on the relevant board, but does anyone here know anything you can paint melamine work surface with? I want to make the work surface nice now too....:o0
