and if they are looking and judging, its whether xxx's new Ugg boots are her third pair this year and whether grey really is the new black.
Hehe, I wouldn't even know what Ugg boots look like, even if one came up and smacked me in the face :rotfl:
But what you say is true, because we are hung up about something, we assume everyone else is hung up about it and talking about you.
Mind you, I remember having that paranoid feeling in a supermarket once and telling myself I was being silly...until I overheard them in the next aisle talking about me!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

I find this amazing. Single parents are not uncommon nowadays. And people are getting more, not less, exposure to people with special or smiply different needs.
If people have iunterest to talk...which is not un-natural...its part of what keeps the world going round...they should lso find time to offer to help or invite you for coffee occasionally...for a break.0 -
Kate Middleton asked the Queen the secret of a successful
marriage.
The Queen said, "Wear a seatbelt and don't pi55 me off"
Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk

Yikes. Thank goodness its not going to be a long engagement:I see a lot more of such jokes during it.0 -
Me!
I only wear it on special occasions or formal business, can't be beggered peeing about in the morning for a school run.
It's a routine I've always followed - don't feel 'finished' and ready for the day otherwise. But it's no aggro, quite relaxing in fact, just 10 - 15 minutes while I'm having a cup of coffee.
Perhaps I need it more than you Sue0 -
I have no problems with "looks" from other mothers at the school gate because I am almost always late, and therefore not at the gate for long enough to notice whether anyone is looking at me or if so how.
:rotfl:Ha, ha, that's the key!
My poor kids always had to wait for me at the end of the day, until I had escaped from work and raced the 15 miles or so back up the road to pick them up.
I was always racing against the clock and occasionally they were the only ones left in the playground and the teacher had taken them back inside. Fortunately, their teachers were pretty helpful but my son still complains about it from time to time.0 -
See, everyone thinks the world is watching them. When really they haven't even noticed.
A very good point and one I keep making to DD who is still nervous about driving.
Every time she hears someone hoot or sees headlights flash, she thinks it's to her.
I think I am just about convincing her that this isn't the case!
We are all driven by our own paranoia when, in reality, most people are only concerned about themselves..... what they are doing and what they are thinking - which is quite different to what we might think they're thinking!!!0 -

I just need to pop by and start a Gen appreciation section. My elderly uncle is in Qld in one of the flood areas. I mentioned to Gen and he's started a whole thread with updates on. So if anyone wants to stop by and do some gratuitous thanking, I would really appreciate it. It's a shame he's done all that and he only gets thanks from me...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Get up at Godawful O'Clock, hear the rain hammering at the window, it's still dark, shower/drag clothes on, get out the door, get soaked getting to the car, try to wake up on the long drive to work. Get out of the car and run into the building, arrive dripping wet just as dawn's breaking.
Whoever has time for a coffee and sit down in the morning??? Those 10-15 minutes fannying about could get you 20-30 minutes ahead of the traffic jams!0
