Why are there so many people on here who have never had the delight of chips n gravy?
Lastly, wheree's fc123? She promised me a book recommendation last week!:(
LJ, would it blow your mind if we were to be ving roast meat without gravy tonight?
quite proud of what I've managed to cobble together for tonight for the car-wreckerconsidering its after Christmas and I'm on a mini-wind down of storecupboards and that I didn't have a car and haven't been to a shop for....well, not sure. Not for at least ten days and I'm sure much longer than that. I think I've been since Chrsitmas, can't remember.

Out there being a filthy capitalist, I imagine, or earning a crust, depending on how you want to spin it.
She won't like the Billy Bragg thread. That's where her forever dream house is going to be!

Point of mildcontention. Something we didn't check, when we moved here, was how near an A &E we were....silly when you think of me really! Anyway...with a car our choice is Bath or Salisbury. either is a bit of a drive....and we have no car
My dad offered to drive over and take him to one or t'other, but DH won't do it (independence and all that). My clientwas here today and offered to take dh, and again...nope.
I did get him to call NHS direct to check what was best to do for the neck pain, an they said...yes ...here you live and under the circumstances a chat on the phone to your gp wouldn't be out of order and preferably an appt to check you over. But the GP's don't talk on the phone round here. Nor take ''emergency''appts. (I thought a within 24/48 hour appt with a GP, not necessarily yours was a rule nowadays?)
Ther is a minor injury unit in the nearest town, which would only be about £15-20 in a cab I think...so if push comes to shove I will do a pouty face puppy dog eyes and crocodile tears.

Proximity to A&E isn't one of the first things you think about with a house purchase though is it? I suppose you'd have to be an uber-bear to have that on your list of priorities.:rotfl:
You may get success by calling him by his full name, with a lot of finger wagging.
For me, your health does come above a lot else. I know it is nice to feel independent, but I still remember telling an ambulance operator I didn't want to waste their time with my dad. A nurse came on the line & insisted. Lucky really, he was in intensive care & a coma for a few weeks not long after being taken in.
Plus, he'll still be in shock, so won't be fully aware.lostinrates wrote: »LJ, would it blow your mind if we were to be ving roast meat without gravy tonight?

Roast meat without gravy is fine, er, I think...
I am suprised how some respected posters on here have got through life this far without having chips & gravy. I mean, how have you done it? Wrong I tell you!:p
as long as it has pleasant accompanying items/veg/sauces etc. We've been doing the wind down thing too.
Poor dear, how have you coped not seeing the inside of a shop?:rotfl:It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Much like us...:)
I'm not always convinced you would know, as I stated earlier, still in shock, plus having aches etc all over the place, the body will be prioritising certain pains over others.
There is a reason why the personal injury law timescale is 3 years - because it can take that long for an injury to become clear.
Better safe than sorry!

Its really upset you this gravy business! I don't know if chippies down here have gravy in stock!
I could make gravy tonight, but tbh, on't much like pork gravy. Don't much like English roast prok at all tbh. Prefer it with oniony lentils to ad some moisture. Sadly we are out of green or puy lentils0 -

It is more shock LIR. Dunno how people like you, tomterm etc have survived this long!:D
I assume it is simply because it is one of my favourites/guilty pleasures. Kinda like cheesecake (tell me you've never had cheesecake I'm off to find another forum:D)
To be fair, part of me feels the first chips & gravy should be a chippy one. If you're at the next crufts in Birmingham, my treat will be to introduce you.:)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I soetimes sell cheesecake....so I've eaten plenty. I'm a baked cheesecake kind of person though, not a fridge cheesecake one. Not that I'd turn a fridge cheese cake down you understand....
I might have doggies to take care of at crufts (not mine)
I'm considering volunteering for one of the dogs breeds at discover dogs this year, on a day not of our group. But only if the other breed stand will have the other dog....because won't leave one at home.:D not when they could be right opposite me there!

There are bits of your eye that actually don't have many nerves, I think it is possible to have some small fragments in without knowing. Anyway, I would want it checked out.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Sounds fun. I'm not a doggy person really, but sounds like something you'd love. I say do it!:)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0
