I'd much rather be at work on new year eve. I don't like going out when it's cold and hate having to pay 2 or 3x the standard cab fare because of the day it happens to be.

I don't drink/drink so rarely that I don't miss it. I'm usually the designated driver anyway - at least that way I know everyone is as safe as possible - I have a real bee in my bonnet with drink-driving.

I'd mind working less if it was double time (;)).

It used to be a pain, as until I started work at the college, I never had time off at christmas, whereas all the staff at the 2nd job all want christmas off.

That said, I now enjoy the 2 week break, & 2nd job have asked me to do a lot more hours than I have done, because, as I pointed out to them, it is my holiday too.:)

I know the place. I also know who manages a lot of those flats. It's not in a good spot. Great views, but there are better. Noisy road behind it too. It's alongside two/three very derelict sites and overlooks a public car park (you can see this over the edge of her balcony). That's St Michael's Church to her right.

Cabs aren't in my culture. They're an alien thing I've chosen to use just 3-4 times in my life. Probably been in 12 ever. They're so expensive. I always drive everywhere if I can.
