Happy New Year Pastures.
Is your arm ok?
Yes, maybe you could transcribe my rantings and get them published. Thanks for the encouragement. Is that just a throw away comment or is it something that you might actually like to do? If you're serious about it then I'll have a think and some time in the next few days can I pm you and take it from there?0 -

Well, it's stopped hurting now. I think I'll live!
It was throwawayI have no contacts. It'd be interesting though, you always make me smile. I'm sure there's a niche ... maybe some kind of spoof Agony Aunt column book....

Happy New Year to all the nice people from me.
And to those who think they were sad to be spending it doing nothing very exciting...
I let ds and dd stay up thinking it would be exciting for them - they both find it quite easy to stay up late anyway, and there's nothing to get up early for tomorrow. It didn't work out well.
Ds was in floods of tears at the idea of having to say goodbye to 2010. This is partly because he's so hypersensitive to loss, and partly because any reminder of the passing of time reminds him that he is inevitably gradually forgetting Daddy, and that makes him feel scared and guilty.
Then dd was in floods of tears because although she was fine about the New Year, she's hypersensitive to being left out, and couldn't cope with the fact that ds needed to be alone with me for a while to talk about his feelings about Daddy.
Sigh. It's just part of the bereavement journey. They'll get there.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

My brother is a taxi driver who has (as of one week), gone completely out on his own....so far, it is going well.
I got a cab home tonight (my brother's cab) as I have had a drink or 8 (or is it 9, could be more, I just kept refilling the glass with champagne) tonight. Went to my parents with 2 of the boys to celebrate New year and we certainly drank and I am certainly merry.
Today went a little pear shaped, shortly after my post this morning, we discovered someone had tried to break into one of our sheds....actually eldest did when he went to do something on his bicycle. Well, eldest stepped back and stepped straight onto a rusty nail, so we spent the afternoon up at accident and emergency getting his injury cleaned out, dressed and him having a tetanus injection...everything taking longer because of his EDS and heart murmur and them having to check the risk and if they had to do anything special because of those conditions.
But the day ended well.....not sure what the morning is going to be like though! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Happy new year to everyone. (Just been woken up by one of our children coming in at 3.30 in the morning. Got to love em grrr.)No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

It's alongside two/three very derelict sites and overlooks a public car park (you can see this over the edge of her balcony). That's St Michael's Church to her right.

Interesting data links. There has to be a good chance that number 12 belonged to Mavis. The timeline fits in, and suspect Daily Mail massaged the purchase price up to £300K from £242,000.
Daily Mail (February 2008)Divorced Mavis spent £300,000 on a two-bed apartment in the block of flats in Newquay, Cornwall, six months ago.Developers are taking desperate measures to shift property. One example is at Horizons, a block of 30 flats. Trathen Properties, the developer, has been trying to sell these since 2007, but attracted only one owner-occupier, who has now moved out. Trathen then tried to sell the flats under fractional ownership, with five weeks' annual use of each flat for £34,950, but no one bought. Now the firm is trying to let the flats to holidaymakers on a weekly basis.0 -
Happy New Year everybody.
I'm snarling if anyone asks what my resolutions are....just getting through each day feels achievement some times!
I went to bed as my nerves all started hurting and couldn't think (which is ok) but had some trouble seeing...which is less useful. DH and I and the two domestic cats spent NYE in a warm bed after a scented bath (the cats didn't bathe). Which is pretty nice way to spend any evening, and I do like to go into the new year clean!
I've got an invite this morning afer which we thought we might try poundland for the fantastic sounding plants on greenfingered...particularly the mock orange blossom, which is one of my favs, we have one but there is always room for more plants like that! Then come home and clean the field...0
